I can feel a song coming on Hairy?
Just hand me a microphone and call me Whitney

Re: Phil Jagielka - "Torres in my Pocket"
So where the fuck is he ?? ... were we told he was nearly ready 3 weeks ago as a smokescreen .. or to keep him in the mind of England for the WC ???...
His injury was clearly worse than let on ... even Beattie would have got fit in a month ??

What with all of these legends getting roles at the club, perhaps Dr Death Mick Rathbone has snuck back in without us knowing.

I think Stones filled in so well, RM thought "Give Jags all the time he needs without hurting his England chances." If I was Roy I'd be thinking of taking Stones to Brazil. Iron out the odd Yobo moment and he's confident as hell.Made FooFoo Gwladys wrote:So where the fuck is he ?? ... were we told he was nearly ready 3 weeks ago as a smokescreen .. or to keep him in the mind of England for the WC ???...

Re: Phil Jagielka - "Torres in my Pocket"
I worry for any player going to Brazil struggling to be fit. The heat, humidity and the recovery time between matches. Will Costa or Saurez make any meaningful contribution too? History suggests not.

The one guy I'm a bit worried about now.
WC hammering, 31+ and just not the player who started Torres's demise.

He'll be back to normal as soon as he has a decent centre half alongside him and some actual DMs in front of him. He and Cahill were hung out to dry by Hodgson's line up

Re: Phil Jagielka - "Torres in my Pocket"
Everton FC captain Phil Jagielka says the decision to sign a new contract with the club took minutes, rather than hours, after the defender signed a one-year extension with the Blues. The 32-year-old has signed his current deal after an excellent season at Goodison Park and will now remain with the club until 2018.
The defender, who is entering his ninth season on Merseyside, was recently named the club's Player of the Season after a period which saw Martinez hail his skipper being in 'the best moment of his career'. And Jagielka says commiting his future was not a hard decision.
“It’s always nice to feel wanted,” said. “Being rewarded with the extra year gives me that motivation to keep striving to get better and to keep going for as long as possible. “It wasn’t the longest negotiations ever – it only took a couple of minutes rather than hours. I love it here, I want to stay here and thankfully enough the Club felt the same. “The contract was drawn up and I popped back after a little holiday to sign it. Now I look forward to getting back for pre-season.”
Jagielka has been captain for the entirety of Martinez's Everton reign, and the Blues boss is delighted he will remain at Goodison even longer. “It’s great news that Phil is extending his relationship with the club,” added Martinez. “He has excelled as a leader and as a captain of our football club for the last two seasons. “I am sure everyone connected with the club will join me in being absolutely delighted that he has signed this extension to his deal.”
