£28M? It seems like the value varies depending on how the source is.Armchair wrote:@RomeluLukaku9 becomes our Club-record signing, arriving from Chelsea on a 5-year deal for a fee of £28million.

Re: Romelu Lukaku - Chelsea's loss (for this season)
The morning after and it somehow feels unreal. £28m is a huge amount to spend on one player, especially for us, but he is worth it, and instead of doing a soton and selling our best players we are sitting at the top table and paying top flight prices to buy Great players.
But at the end of the day, we are only where we finished off last season, squad wise, which might be a good thing

My only worry is, can the club afford it?

Re: Romelu Lukaku - Chelsea's loss (for this season)
Everyone including Chelsea fans questioned Mourinho's decision to loan out Lakaku to Everton last season , many sensed a bitter taste in Jose's mouth, what was it Mourinho disliked about Lukaku when every Chelsea supporter was crying out for a proper striker??
Answer below.
Indeed, the defining moment of Lukaku’s Chelsea career appears to have been a long, slow walk from the centre-circle to the penalty spot in Prague, for the decisive penalty in the UEFA Super Cup shoot-out against Mourinho’s arch-rival Pep Guardiola and his Bayern Munich side.
Chelsea had seen an extra-time victory snatched away in the final seconds, but Mourinho wanted to win.
Instead, he watched, as Lukaku strolled up and rolled the ball too close to Manuel Neuer.
Within 48 hours, Lukaku was out of the Bridge, on loan at Everton. The big Belgian was an instant hero for Roberto Martinez, with 15 Premier League goals from 31 appearances.
Welcome back to Goodison Romelu Lukaku, here is where your career will thrive under Roberto Martinez , This is were you belong.

With the Sky money this season, yes. But I doubt there is much spare change left.
Hopefully the price tag doesn't come a millstone around Luka's neck.

£28m sounds a lot. Because it is. However, if you think of it as swapping Fellaini for Lukaku, then it doesn't seem so bad.
