Burnley... I mean Burnley !.. is that even a football team ?.. I thought it was an ointment that you put on your scalds when you spilt your coffee down your forearms.
Euro hangover?? .. not on M4G's watch..
0-4 mullering... Amokachi, Hartford, Jeffers & Kone
Wigan my arse.....

It was all good until you got to Kone being a goal scorer.

I don't recall any unsavory moments on the pitch, but I do remember getting chased after a game at their place in about 1970ish, and getting a kick up the butt. What a dump that area was in those days. Looked like Anfield does now.
They had a great youth set up before academies, and we got Clever Trevor from them.
I went to school with a nephew of Alex Elder and have his autograph somewhere in one of those old autograph books we all had back then.
That's my total knowledge of Boornlay.
My other tenuous link is I met Jimmy Husband at a tennis club during his hayday. Very shy and coy, driving a red e-type.
So what should I have remembered?

"Jimmy Husband was a FA Youth Cup and League Championship winner with the Blues. “Skippy” was the scorer, in January 1971, of one of the greatest Goodison goals in living memory – a volley past Peter Bonetti after swift interplay between Hurst, Harvey and Ball. On a less savoury note he is also remembered as the recipient of on-pitch knee-surgery (without anaesthetic) courtesy of Derby’s Dave Mackay in October 1968; despite popular opinion that he was “never the same player again”, Jimmy was playing again within 5 weeks. - See more at: http://toffeeweb.com/season/12-13/comment/editorial/24608.html#sthash.K8Ijbe8Y.dpuf"
Good article - what a team in those days! http://toffeeweb.com/season/12-13/comment/editorial/24608.html
We all thought at the time he'd broken his leg. I was in the paddock about 20 feet away.

Re: Burnley 1 Everton 3 (Eto'o (2), Lukaku)
Roberto Martinez felt playing football had become "a chore" for Sylvain Distin and believes the veteran defender is now refreshed after a spell out of the squad.
So Dizzie's unspecified injury was his mojo?

That's a very attacking team, but I guess it'll mean Naismith on the right again...
