Re: Phil Jagielka - "Torres in my Pocket"
Sorry if it has already been posted but, from the Bluekipper:
The Blues continue their pre season warm up matches this Saturday with a trip to East Anglia to take on Norwich City.
Moyesy has added all his World Cup contingent to his Squuuuaaaad, apart from Jonny, but it is unlikely any of them will start, apart from Jan Mucha in place of Ian Turner.
Tiny, Nuts, Tim Howard, The Yak and Jan the keeper have all been named in a strong looking contingent, but worrying rumours have been circulating all day that Phil Jagielka's omission may be a bit more serious than a slight knock, here is hoping not anyhow.
With four straight wins under our belt this Summer, the Blues will be visiting the Canaries hoping to knock them off their perch.
Shit sorry, I honestly could not resist it, alright then I will get my coat.
Moyesy said: "I think there are a couple of them who are a little bit further ahead. Pienaar, Yobo, Yakubu and Mucha look like they need a bit more training but Tim Cahill - I think because he had a couple of games and did a bit of training in Australia - he's a little bit ahead of them.
They aren't really ready to play but I am not sure if I am going to consider them yet.
We have still not got Victor or Ossie; they are not back training yet.
Phil Jagielka might miss the game as well because he has a little bit of a problem with his knee but overall we aren't looking too bad."
Everton from: Turner, Howard, Mucha, Hibbert, Neville, Coleman, Baines, Distin, Yobo, Mustafi, Rodwell, Arteta, Cahill, Pienaar, Bilyaletdinov, Gueye, Vaughan, Saha, Yakubu, Beckford, Baxter, Silva.
Re: Phil Jagielka - "Torres in my Pocket"
Sure hope that Jags is not on his way. Having class English players in the squad is going to be massive now and this is just going to drive up the prices. Jags is a great great centre back and I'd be gutted if he left. The only "positive" would be that we could demand a sizeable fee for him.

Bluekipper is reporting that he has had a bad knock but the swelling has gone down and now it looks like he wont need an op but it just needs a little time to heal should be fine anytime soon and that this is why he pulled out of Tescos signing.
Quite a few people posting on it over there.

Should have sold him to Arsenal when we had the chance.

Re: Phil Jagielka - "Torres in my Pocket"
SSN just showed him in training so I guess it wasnt too serious after all..

... or maybe he has said he wants to join Arsenal and Moyes has dropped him a la Lescott....
Re: Phil Jagielka - "Torres in my Pocket"
Recalled to England team. Only 10 of World Cup squad retained.
Gibbs, Wilshere and Zamora called up.

Re: Phil Jagielka - "Torres in my Pocket"
Phil Jagielka could never snub England like Paul Robinson and Wes Brown, no matter how many times he has been overlooked. ‘My mum and dad would beat me up if I quit,’ said the Everton defender, who won his fourth cap in last week’s friendly win against Hungary. ‘Some families might be different, but I’m proud to be English. As long as I’m fit, I’ll keep asking for a game.

Telegraph bigging up Jags after his last two performances. He's certainly better than that shithouse Terry.

Agreed. Capello will see the Jags & Lescott partnership as a perfect replacement for old guard Terry & Ferdinand.
I am really happy for Jags, but he even more likely now to attract unwelcome bids from other clubs.

Yep, I'd have him back too. Provided he can produce a valid knee certificate.

I read that Gary Cahill is now worth £17.5 million because he came on as a sub for England. If Jags is to become a regular England player then he should be worth over £25 million IMO. I cant see many bidding that for him to be fair.

Wenger thinks he's worth around £10M...Dixie Land wrote:SouthernSmugToffee wrote:Tonteau wrote:Telegraph bigging up Jags after his last two performances. He's certainly better than that shithouse Terry.

Not available in my territory.
Our PM is at the U.N. today to bitch and whine about colonial countries wanting to get out of their obligations cheaply. The UN wants GB, France etc to give independence. We don't actually want it, but we don't want the current situation either; which has the Foreign Office fucking us around at every opportunity.
