Yankthattoffee wrote:Maybe they can teach him to pass?Super wrote:Everton loan star Gerard Deulofeu is desperate to force his way into the Barcelona side next season.
The promising 19-year-old has made 15 Premier League appearances for the Toffees since arriving from the Nou Camp in July - but is already looking ahead to his return to Spain.
Deulofeu said: "I am working hard with the aim of returning to Barca next season. I want to earn a place in Barca's attacking line.
"I accepted the challenge (at Everton) last summer and I am happy with my decision. Now I am more mature as a person and as a player.
"Perhaps there was a lack of confidence in me (at Barcelona), but that is normal as I was young and it's difficult to find coaches that trust young players."
Deulofeu joined the Catalan giants in 2003 at the tender age of nine and has already represented Spain at U21 level.
What do Barcelona know about passing?

Re: 10. Gerard Deulofeu (hailed the new Ronaldo)
Barca transfer ban suspended pending appeal which won't be heard before July 1st at the earliest. Hardly surprising then. So basically they can go out and buy players ahead of the appeal. Might have positive impact for second Deulofeu spell?

Seems like pure speculation from a dubious website. Saying that, it would be great if he stays, but on the other hand I also think we can cope without him.

1 year older and hopefully wiser, and I see him having a blinding season next year.

I'd love him to stay another season. Sure, he is bloody frustrating but he's got so much ability. You can teach someone when to pass or shoot but are born with the skill he has.

Re: 10. Gerard Deulofeu (hailed the new Ronaldo)
I agree. And I am sure that Barca see that he is well taken care of as well. And he definitely has a lot to learn to be a top performer. Maybe Barca loaned him out in order to have someone else scream at him "pass the f'n ball!".Armchair Evertonian wrote:I'd love him to stay another season. Gerrard Delofeou has agreed to stay at Everton for another season as Barca prepare to splash the cash on some new marquee signings, rather than rely on home bred talent.

It just leaves the paper work to be done, which will be a formality.

Reports that he going back to Barcas first team. He'll never make it¡

gone back. In all honesty, I'm not that arsed. He flattered to deceive most of the time. All those step-overs got on my tits and I'm not convinced he's got what it takes to make it in Spain. I'd rather have Milner, if that's a possibility, and I'm sure we can pick up some other flash little git with a bit of pace and a dodgy hamstring on loan.

Re: 10. Gerard Deulofeu (hailed the new Ronaldo)
I'm sorry to see him go a think he'll progress back in Spain. He's shown at all underage levels what he's capable of. He also possesses signs of raw talent that with a few seasons at the top level he'll be world class and Barcelona will build their team around him.

He's no Raheem Stirling though - that lad really imposed himself on the PL this season and he's only 19. Don't get me wrong, Foo's an exciting player, but he really contributed very little in 25 appearances and clearly has a very high regard for his own talent. He may do better in Spain, be the new Ronaldo etc, you never know. But I think he's got a long way to go. Would have been nice to seem him stay at Goodison for another year, an impact sub and, as has been said, someone to put a bit of pressure on Kev, but it's not the end of the world IMO.

Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu will not return to Everton for a second season on loan with the 20-year-old set to feature in the plans of new boss Luis Enrique.

Not too arsed. As already said, he will probably be great one day but not for a few years. Bags of talent but doesn't know how to use it properly. More often than not he doesn't beat the first man. McGeady should be more affective this season and I'm sure we'll get another decent winger in, whether it be Milner or not.

Re: 10. Gerard Deulofeu (hailed the new Ronaldo)
Thanks FooFoo ....
Gerard Deulofeu has paid an emotional tribute to Everton FC, and its fans, after ending his season long loan on Merseyside.
The 20 year old, who spent the 2013/14 season on loan from parent club Barcelona, became a firm fan favourite at Goodison Park due to his explosive pace and assortment of tricks, and today the young Spaniard released a statement via his twitter account, thanking Evertonians, players and management alike for their support during his loan stint.
“I would like to thank Everton and all their fans for this year so special in my career,” Deulofeu stated.
“A new country, a new club, a new way of seeing, live(ing) and understand(ing) football.
“I have grown as a soccer player, but also as a person and that is why I would like to thank every person that has helped and accompanied on this journey. The club and the manager for the great opportunity, my team mates for welcoming me and to the fans for their fantastic support.
“I am proud and fulfilled with my year at Everton, having both helped the club and hoping that the fans enjoyed my football.
“I wish Everton lots of luck and success in the future. You will always be in my heart.”
Deulofeu amassed a total of 25 appearances during his stay on Merseyside, scoring three goals and assisting three goals during his time at the club, andeveryone here at NSNO would like to wish Gerard all the best with the rest of his footballing career.

he'll never make it.... actually I believe that, at least not at Barcelona, and he is kidding himself if he thinks he is ready for their first team, he is barely ready for our first team - too much show and not enough end product.
See ya Gerry lad, see you when you get released by Barca

Yes I have to agree with that assessment.
