Re: 20: Ross Barkley - Royal Blue future
Barks should sign the new contract.. we are clearly on the way up.. clearly minted.. clearly going to have an amazing stadium... clearly have a good manager that improves him dramatically.. and plays him.
He could join a shit team going downwards like Le Arse..
He'd be mad to leave & get splinters in his arse & get fucking fat again.
He's on great form.. keep it going & he can be part of our next wave of greatness.. like Sheedy was in the 80's
SIGN IT YOU TWAT !!!!
..and all the above also applies to Big Balls Luka

I simply don't believe any of this shite. Why would Arsenal or Spurs want to sign Ross, based on his performances this season? Sunderland maybe, or one of the promoted clubs.
Re: 20: Ross Barkley - Royal Blue future
I would be more interested in knowing how the rumours would be if Barkley was NOT English. And he's still "young" - hell, he's been young for ages! So, yeah, I am with you on this one. Actually reminds me of how there are managers thinking "I can handle him and make him a better player" - think Ballotelli.hairy cataract wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Arsenal have joined Tottenham in wanting to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley if the 23-year-old England international does not agree a new contract with the Goodison Park club. Re: 20: Ross Barkley - Royal Blue future
Here's Everton manager Ronald Koeman on the ongoing contract negotiations with midfielder Ross Barkley, who has a year left on his deal:
"It is still one week until the end of season. There's still time for him to decide. Before next weekend we need an answer.
"Either he accepts contract or we sell. Too many times and you begin to have doubts. I like to work with players who want to stay."
On the future of striker Romelu Lukaku, who has two years remaining on his deal: "We had talks together about his ambitions. He has two more years on contract."

It'll be sad to see him go. I would really like any team we have built around local talent. But if he's been turned and wants to go elsewhere there's plenty only to happy to take his place.

The whisper is that Ross (and his people will settle if he is paid around £145,000 per week. He has graciously conceded that this sum will of course include his bonuses....
I will be sad to see him go.... but it is his choice.... when you consider Pogba's agent coined £40m for the deal - is it any wonder that we hate them....

Build a team around Tom Davies instead and take the money from Ross (and probably Rom too) - good business (£100m+ to re-invest plus whatever the owner wants to put in the transfer pot)

I might be naive to think this, but I reckon with the agent it's all about the money but with Ross it's more about feeling loved and where his career is going. I mean, the money helps to make you feel loved, so it's an issue, but I think Ross will leave more because he's unhappy at Everton under Koeman and gets offered love/ego massaging from West Ham or Newcastle or the reserve team manager at Spurs.

Get rid. Put him in the shop window, I'm sure he will be flooded by clubs wanting to pay him £60k a week and he'll come crying back to us for an extended contract.

That's what makes me laugh about the whole thing. If he wants the toppest of top dollar, then he needs to be the toppest of top player. And he isn't. He's a decent player, but he's not even the best attacking midfielder in Liverpool {goes to wash out mouth with soap}.
