Everton v Luton
Would be nice to win to keep up the momentum from the Palace win.

Re: Everton v Luton
Yup. We owe these. Need to find a way to blow the door down not just huff and puff.
Re: Everton v Luton
I'm about to head off to Euston. Up for the Cup! We're starting to look a bit depleted now with Gomes out, and obviously the PL is Dyche's priority, but I still love a cup game and hope we give it our all.
Of course, if we get our points back, a cup run might be more than an annoying distraction from the bread and butter of survival. I know the chances of us winning it, or even getting to Wembley are slim as fuck in the current unbalanced football scene, but we can dream.
We Shall Not Be Moved!
4-0 to the blues, goals for DCL, Beto, Eric Morcambe (og), Klopp

Enjoy the day, and Up the Toffees.
I still have some hope. Like, I want to End Football but I still watched Spuds v Citteh last night in the hope that City would get knocked out, thus giving us more than a 0% chance of winning it.
Re: Everton v Luton
yeah, altough I can't be arsed with the cup while the priority is survival I do hope we batter them.... as long as we get no injuries or suspensions !.Rotterdam 1985 wrote:hairy cataract wrote:I'm about to head off to Euston. Not able to find a feed online. Based on what I read though, we were rather poor in the first half.
Re: Everton v Luton
Hmmmm, Luton score in the 96th minute to win 1-2.
I'm upset, but I really want to focus on the league anyway, since we have pretty much no chance of winning the cup anyway.
And we really aren't very good, are we?

Re: Everton v Luton
My stream froze at 92 minutes, so I just assumed it was 1-1. Just seen the score. Oh well. We were shite again and it's getting harder and harder to care. Fuck off football.

Re: Everton v Luton

Re: Everton v Luton
Interesting that we have played Luton twice at home this season (league and FA Cup) and have lost both games 1-2. Looking at other teams, they tend to take care of business, especially at home, while we seem to struggle mightily with that.

I go to totalsportek and it usually gives a load of options. It's always a pain getting started with all the pop-ups, but you can usually find something reasonably decent. *No guarantees the football is any good.

I'm not bothered that we are out of the cup, but am concerned that we can't beat Luton.

Yes, to paraphrase Jimmy White, Luton are beginning to annoy me.
If we'd won today I'd still be dreaming of Wembley. As it is I'm glad we've gone out without a replay on the logical, hard-headed basis that we'd never have got to Wembley anyway.

footybite.cc is another one. I'll try totalsportek next time.

Re: Everton v Luton
We were pretty shit, but then that’s no surprise, we’re usually pretty shit. Worryingly, Luton were a lot less shit than us and I can see them lifting themselves out of trouble. I’m not sure there are three worse teams than us - we can only hope Forest get a points deduction and we dont.
Our lads all seemed to work hard - with the possible exception of Onana who seems to take the whole thing not too seriously, and DCL who seems reluctant to put himself about and chase lost causes - but most of our players are only borderline good enough for the PL, and some obviously not good enough. Not their fault, but it puts a lot of pressure on Dyche to find ways to win, or at least not to lose.

Re: Everton v Luton
Can't fault Dyche's honesty in his comments on the OS, but this makes me sad:
“It’s a different ball game I think,” said Dyche comparing Cup and league action. “The Cup is a different mentality - I said it in the last round. You feel it in the crowd as well, there is a different feel to the cups.
“It’s nobody’s fault, it is just the way it is, the players feel different, it’s not the Premier League. There is a different buzz and feel about it.
“Obviously, in the latter stages, it grows in terms of intensity but there is a different feeling to it."
When I think back to cup games in the olden days, the atmosphere was miles better than a league game cos so much was at stake on a one-off match, and you could dream of Wembley. I'm sure Dyche is right though.
