Re: ROBERTO MARTINEZ - Meet the new boss (Same as the old boss?)
I was about to post my prediction that Moshiri will allow Martinez to finish the season then bring in Pellegrini who has stated his desire to remain in England and take on a long term project, that would suit Farhad Moshiri to the ground.
My only question about Pellegrini is ? His English needs to improve a lot better.
would certainly like to see David Silva in the middle for Everton.

I just can't see this happening. RM to continue with maybe a defensive coach?sefton wrote:I was about to post my prediction that Moshiri will allow Martinez to finish the season then bring in Pellegrini who has stated his desire to remain in England and take on a long term project, that would suit Farhad Moshiri to the ground.

For every 1 step forward its 2 steps back with Martinez. 2 successive seasons of going backwards in the league. Do you know any other club who would allow a manager to continue with a record like his?! He's had the rare luxury in this period of being able to keep hold of his best players and a net spend £30m on top. I don't know how anyone can defend him anymore?
He's just out of his depth at this level and I don't think bringing in a defensive coach would change that. The fans have stopped believing in him now and so have the players - time for a decent manager to take us forward!

Bill Kenwright, specially if Lukaku gets sold for 50 plus millions,I am very apprehensive and sceptical about all this money being talked about to improve are squad,
on the current basis of success, I wouldn't trust Martinez with £1.00,I really do hope Moshiri will see Evertons future will be with a more experienced Manager that can take us forward.

In fairness I think he was referring to an eating competition. With McGeady in the side we'll surely beat anyone (since on loan players count).Armchair wrote:sefton wrote:http://talksport.com/football/roberto-martinez-unfazed-romelu-lukaku-exit-talk-and-claims-everton-can-compete-any-team

Very good piece by - of all people - Graeme Souness in the Sunday Times today, I could have written it myself. Basically saying Stones and Barkley need strong management to stop them making the same mistakes again and again, and hints that our useless fucking manager will relegate us if Lukaku leaves.
Worth nicking a copy from your local newsagents.

Yeah, read it there. Pretty much as everyone has been saying. Everyone just (blue) in the face from saying it at this stage.

True, but it's good to have people outside the fan-base saying it, and seeing it exactly as we do. He's bang on about Barkley suffering in comparison to Alli too. Exactly what I was saying after the friendlies - Barkley just dribbles until he can't dribble any more, he doesn't have the speed of thought or the decision making that Alli has. If I was Ross, I'd leave Everton unless Martinez is sacked. We'll never know whether Barkley can become a great player until he's had a chance at being coached by someone else. Might turn out that it isn't Bobby's fault, Barkley just isn't good enough, but I doubt it.

Yeah the observations on Barkley and Stones are particularly apt. Think I made the point in the Other Matches thread that Ali looks so more dynamic and direct against Germany then Barkley did against Holland. Its all well and good giving the player time to learn and make mistakes but if he is not given any clear direction and coaching in all aspects of the game as well then he will regress and continue to make the SAME mistakes. There in lies the difference between Pochettino and Martinez. The media in general having been making that point for the last 3-4 months now but I agree the Souness article is particularly forceful today. And it leaves us blind to what may happen on the pitch any week. We may get hammered today. We might pull off a great win. We might go 2 up and draw or lose and visa versa. Its just chaos. You simply can't hope to build foundations of a winning team under those conditions. Not at this level. Nice guy Martinez but woefully inept in defensive and organizational part of the game.

I'm not sure about Wenger. His teams seem a bit toothless/bottlers (a bit like Bobby's).

Seen that yesterday, good for him to speak out against Martinez.
Also read this morning Spanish coach is retiring after Euro's, He's thrown Martinez name in the hat to take over.
that would suit all party's.

Would be great to actually get some compo for him rather than have to pay up the last 2 years of his contract!
