Liverpool come so close to a leveller, as they hit the woodwork for the 33rd time this season. Steven Gerrard delivers a superb cross from deep on the right, Luis Suarez glances a header into the bottom corner which beats Shay Given but hits the post. Given then reacts to palm the ball clear as it bounces out. So unlucky.

baines feeds Pienaar down the left, after the ref possibly should have blown the whistle after several players are involved in a fight for the ball, Pienaar feeds the ball in to the box where Jelavic, again, is in the right spot at the right time and he left foots the ball in to the far corner. The mark of a true poacher.

We hold on to the ball for a good 20-30 seconds and get a corner in the end.
