I count the 3 points lost at WestBrom as part of this too. We look far better with him than without him.
True, true. We were doing well in the opening twenty of that game.

Re: 4: Darron Gibson - Another Fergie bargain?
Sounds like Trap and Darron Gibson have kissed and made up
We feared that Everton midfielder Darron Gibson might be headed down the same road as Stephen Ireland but it sounds like he will be back in green sooner rather than later.
In all the hullabaloo about Wes Hoolahan, Ciaran Clarke and Shane Duffy yesterday the Darron Gibson situation went unremarked. The Everton man is injured at the moment so he would not have faced Greece anyway but after he refused to play Kazakhstan, citing his miserable time in Poland during the Euros, we feared he was set for the international scrapheap.
But Daniel McDonnell reports in the Irish Independent today that Giovanni Trapattoni and the Derry man are back on speaking terms and we should see the midfielder line out for Ireland again soon.
"I spoke to him after the Faroes game and he said, 'Sorry Mister, again, a problem with the toe',” said Trap to McDonnell. “But he said also 'I have no problem when I will be ready.' But at the moment, he no play."
The obvious follow-up question was is Gibson over the issue that caused him to skip the Kazakh game. Trap’s response: "Yes, yes, he said to me 'No problem this'. He was also disappointed, we had many players disappointed."
The report goes on to say that Gibson should be back in the reckoning by the time we face Poland in February.
Another bridge built.

Trap: Concentration.
Gibbo: Cad é atá tú ag dul ar fút Iodáilis sean dúr?
Trap: Mentality.
Gibbo: Ah anseo, fág amach é.
Trap: I picked the Paul Green. System....yes...now...always....system.

Re: 4: Darron Gibson - Another Fergie bargain?
Darron Gibson’s drawn out injury saga could nearly be over with the influential midfielder hoping to make his comeback against Reading in nine days.
The Irish International has not kicked a ball since limping off against West Bromwich Albion in September with a thigh problem, missing eight games.
The Blues doctors discovered that the 25 year old had also damaged a tendon near his thigh, which meant his initial month-long lay-off was always likely to be longer.
However David Moyes will not want to rush the former Manchester United man back into the first team, with the priority being the crunch games against Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea all taking place during December alongside a trip to Stoke and high-flying West Ham United.
It means Everton, who are also hoping Tony Hibbert will recover in time for the weekend, will have a fully fit squad as they attempt to strengthen their grip on fourth place in the Premier League.

Did the Hammer do enough yesterday to be considered for the holding role, and does Gibbo have genuine competition for the spot?SEFTON wrote:Helenqu wrote:Playing today in the Under 21s. Hope we have him back ASAP, we have missed him. Back to winning games again

Apart from the free kick he gave away, I thought he was sound considering it was his first start for us.

I watched the game and i thought he did ok,a few times in the game though you could see ''his fitness was lacking'' hes been out the game a while.
He did have a thunderous shot parried away by the keeper.
Re: 4: Darron Gibson - Another Fergie bargain?
I thought Hitz did ok yesterday but looking forward to having Gibson back.

We're a much better side with him in the middle, no doubt about it!

You're too much of an optimist. Try looking on the negative side for a change.

And Ward ahead of Wilson. And Whelan ahead of Hoolahan. And Cox ahead of Long. And O'Shea ahead of Coleman. And......... well you get the picture..

Great stuff. The only "sad" thing is that if Messi had done that it would have been on the front page of the sport section in numerous papers across Europe. I am assuming this didn't get that much publicity....Lumper wrote:

If Phil Neville had tried that, he wouldnt have got it over Dzeko's head, they would have broke and we would probably be defending a corner.
Gibson's little cameo also reminded me of this:
and this:
We should start an Everton Tekkers thread
