Ross seems to have his feet firmly on the ground and he will know that the manager he is currently playing under has faith in him, and with that will come game time, and with that he will develop into a top, top player if he stays put. Aside from money, why would Ross want to go and not play under David Moyes again?

Not a chance in this world would anyone offer £50m for Barkley.
Man Ure will go abroad and make a "big" signing. An already cultured midfielder, Ross is too raw to be their marquee signing

The lad has turned into a good scrapper as well. Getting stronger every game.
McCarthy and Barks under the watchful eye of Barry are a formidable engine room.
I hope we can keep this trio together for some time.

Re: 20: Ross Barkley - Royal Blue future
I'd like to think we'd want to keep Barkley and also that Barkley would want to stay with us, but we all know that football is no longer a game, it is a business, so IF someone came in with a £50m bid with a massive jump in wages for the young fella no doubt he would go....
.....however, I cannot for the life of me see united or more specifically Moyes offering £50m for a player that makes so many mistakes in a game. Moyes is risk averse, that's why Barkley was limited to so few games under him, and nothing has changed in his makeup in the last 6 months, so he won't be in for Barkley, at least not this year or until Barkley is a more complete player.
And I'd also like to think that Barkley would tell united to fuck off anyway, not because he isn't a mercenary, but because he's enjoying his football and he wants to play regularly and united or indeed any big club won't guarantee him that and therefore his development will be curtailed and he'll go backwards.

Yes I agree. Barkley would have to be a nobhead to move right now, and he really doesn't come across as a nobhead. He's just broken into the side, he's become a local hero overnight, he's the main playmaker, he's learning from those around him, he's been given freedom to play and to make the odd mistake.... he will progress so much more at Everton than he would at any other club. As has been said, nobody - least of all Moyes - is going to come in with an offer big enough to make it worth our while selling him. We'd get offered £20m plus add-ons or something like that, and we'd surely laugh our bollox off at that kind of an offer.
Re: 20: Ross Barkley - Royal Blue future
Moyes will try to sign Alonso again this week ... or Messi... or Ronaldo ... of course they'll all tell him to fuck off & he'll end up with Naismith for 10 million on deadline dayhairy cataract wrote:Sack the Juggler wrote:I'd like to think we'd want to keep Barkley and also that Barkley would want to stay with us, but we all know that football is no longer a game, it is a business, so IF someone came in with a £50m bid with a massive jump in wages for the young fella no doubt he would go....

Utd will be desperate. A massive bid might be a possibility. But then a bidding war ought to start since I am sure that City Chelsea would want to have a go as well.

Wow, do people actually listen to us when we say a player isn't for sale now? How times have changed.

Barks would be mad to gather splinters in his arse under moyes though at Manure... the replacement manager (inevitable) may not want him & he'll fast become a bit player somewhere... Utd need top draw established players like Alonso...
Barks is brilliant like... but not what Manure need to get them out the rut ... Felli didn't work did he ?

Yeah, hardly played him at all. I bet Moyes would say Barkley is a different player now though.Mr_Ben wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Utd will be desperate. A massive bid might be a possibility. Worse than bugger, I'm hearing rumours it's a broken metatarsal. In which case that could be until the last few games of the season. We really missed him today, and I'm not sure that our new signing Chubby McTubby is going to be quite as good in the hole, unless it's a toad-in-the-hole we're talking about.

more like big hairy buggery bollocks with custard on them. Really hope they're just looking at worst case scenario. Just as Foo hits form, he's fucked, just as Barks hits form, he's fucked, why can't this happen to Ratboy over at Shitefield?
