I can see your nightmare and double it.
The challenge we have is we have talent but truly untried in the club at first team level
Weir would appear to be a good choice given connections and gravitas with the squad.... But he might need a point of counsel..perhaps a Director of Football.... I give you Neil Warnock...
Now that serves you right for scaring the young uns last night just before they went to bed
In practical terms... if we bring in a Laudrup, he will want to transform the way we play. He will want to buy a few ball-players, a mobile forward, wingers etc etc. So it will cost millions in compensation for the manager, and a load more millions on new players. If we bring in a Lennon, he will probably be having a massive wank at the thought of playing with the likes of Naismith, Jags, Hibbo and Jelavic, and will only want to spend a few grand on a fucking huge lump of a centre forward for some route one stuff, and a midfield loony to kick the fuck out of anything that moves.
So Bill, spend a fortune on a top European manager and some lovely players, or spend fuck all on a ginger loon and some cloggers....?
Or... as you say, save even the compo for Lennon and appoint Weir and Stubbs.
We're doomed.
Laudrup Has a two year contract at Swansea, apparently he also has a mega buy out clause to stop bigger clubs poaching him, one national newspaper reporting? it will cost Everton around £10 million to praise Laudrup away from Swansea. that's far too much money for a manager that won't be around long in the premiership as Europe and its bigger clubs come calling.
A lot has been said about Bill Kenwright, rightly/wrongly, who? in there right mind would want to be a chairman in the premiership today?
we lose a good manager/great in other peoples opinions, whatever the thought's,can't deny Moyes has left a great big void at Everton, practically impossible to replace.
Now a new era dawns at Goodison .who ever ? Kenwright and the board appoint as are new manager not everyone is going to be appeased.
one thing is for sure? its going to be hard bringing in a manager that's loyal/passionate in the way David Moyes was.
Its easy for us as fans to say who we want /don't want as manager.in reality we need a manager that will carry on the Moyes legacy with the same work ethic.
Kenwright is probably hurting more than anyone because he allowed himself be over friendly with David Moyes, instead of keeping their relationship purely business .
This has allowed Moyes to do as he pleases , running his contract down should never have been allowed to happen, now we get nothing (compensation) and United get everything. Grow a pair Mr Kenwright and tie the new man down with stipulations and clauses in his contract that will benefit Everton football club from not having a situation like this one again.

OK but why would Lennon want to come south of the border?hairy cataract wrote:And Neil Lennon is still odds-on favourite.
He's used to picking up at least a couple of trophies each season and being in the European comps.
With 17 or so clubs in the PL he's going to win sweet FA.

Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
Kenwright should appoint a care-taker manager until Moyes comes back after Utd sack him after an early season run of 6 defeats.
IMO.

Then he would be left with no time for dealing in the transfer market.
What? Oh!

Glad to read he's going to actively help us find another manager, he will know who is right for the job.

Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
I have not wished ill of anyone, so I write this without malace, but SAF has not really left DM with anything other than a player headache. Maybe he already knew, and has passed the baton pretty damn quick.
Scholes and Giggs gone. Rio, Evra and Vidic easing out. Rooney!
What he's left with is not great. Cleverley, Welbeck etc?
Take all the above away from their squad, and there really isn't anything to write home about other than Van Pussy.
He'll need to spend big to maintain United grip on English footy.
Let's see if he gets it right. I'm thinking he will, after a few bumps in the road.
BTW if Martinez comes our way, I wouldn't mind him bringing Maloney along. (Just saw that he's 30, so forget that)

Moyes has class and integrity, we have been very lucky to have him at the helm for the last eleven years.
I will be at Goodison tomorrow, I kind of had a feeling for the last few months that it may be his last home game in charge, I am glad I will be there to give him the send-off that he deserves. COYB-IMWT.

Thank you. Should be good, we've been to the last home game for five years now and haven't lost any of them, hoping for the same tomorrow

Roy Keane:
I assume he's referring to the likes of Bodgers when he talks about managers talking shite.
"I think Moyes is an excellent choice. I nearly signed for him when I left United and he was at Everton, I've come across him and he's got a bit of class. He seems very honest and he doesn't talk nonsense like some of the other managers out there. I think he'll do a great job."

I'm in that photo, my face is obstructed as I' m holding up my phone videoing the proceedings (I'm to the left of the woman holding the baby in the Chang Box)
I was there with my Dad, it was a great day and something that I'll never forget.
It looked like everyone stayed on after the game, there was a real sense of solidarity.

That's wonderful! I am sure that will be an event people talk about for years, as in "remember Moyes' last game in charge? I was there and it was sensational!"anticipate_the_pass wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Sure was, even though it stopped halfway through for me.Armchair Evertonian wrote:Lumper wrote:Close the thread

Well he is available... he turned Real Madrid down.... now I know we don't normally allow ourselves to be mentioned in the same breath as Real Madrid ... but in this case we could perhaps make an exception
