He's given us good service but has been a frustrating player in lots of ways. We aren't making much or anything on him, which is annoying but the investment in a couple of new players will be welcome.
Re: 25: Marouane Fellaini - Short, Back, in Side
£20m rising to £24m apparently

So we make an absolute maximum of £9 million on a player we bought as a teenager and developed into one of the league's best? Really poor deal. Should be more like £30m.Saccum Praestigiatorum wrote:£20m rising to £24m apparently

Agreed Tonts. United are one of the worst clubs to deal with regards to transfers , I wouldn't be surprised if we get the 20 million in instalments.?
Everton are moving to bring in Liverpool midfielder Sissocko on a free if Fellaini deal goes ahead? Not sure about this , just hope we strengthen are squad with some quality players? nobody gets to leave on a free unless their really shite.
Re: 25: Marouane Fellaini - Short, Back, in Side
it is annoying especially when you see Bale going for £86m or even £30m being talked about for David Luiz, but we can't increase Felli's wages or offer him CL footie so its all about getting a price that is fair to us (based on his wages).Tonteau wrote:So we make an absolute maximum of £9 million on a player we bought as a teenager and developed into one of the league's best? Personally, I love Felli but get frustrated with him sometimes so £20m with a further £4m is about right, but we will need to get someone of his stature and ability in the middle of the park to replace him
Re: 25: Marouane Fellaini - Short, Back, in Side
£24m isn't bad but it would be nice to think that we could squeeze more from United, considering a) how much money have to spend and b) how desparate they are to spend it.

Re: 25: Marouane Fellaini - Short, Back, in Side
I think we will... but whether we do or not 20-24M is way too cheap for a player we have taken to 'World Class' -- allegedly ... I totally agree that 30M is more realistic... but honestly I'd rather have the player ... pissed off right nowSouthernSmugToffee wrote:With Gibson coming back from injury, will we miss him??Made 4 Gwladys wrote:terrible deal ... If the initial fee is £20M and rising to £24M, that seems rather low. I would have liked to see it start in the mid 20's and go up to the upper 20's, at a minimum.
It's pretty clear he must have wanted away and we are therefore between a rock and a hard place, more or less "forced" to sell.
He'll be missed for sure.

Selling now, instead of holding out for more money, will give us more time to find a replacement. Losing him on the last day, without a replacement would be a disaster.Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:If the initial fee is £20M and rising to £24M, that seems rather low. Hopefully this is total bollocks! Sky Sports News havent reported any such story as there is nothing on their live internet transfer ticker.
Surely - we wouldnt accept a bid for Fellaini that is less than the £24m we received for Lesscott 3-4 years ago?!
