Wow, the pace of the game, getting older and then the knee injury, I guess it was bound to happen. Still kind of happened rather quicky it seems like.Armchair Evertonian wrote:Officially retired as a player.

first team coach at ManUre.
I think we missed out there, but I guess he would also choose them over us, despite all the stuff about how much he loved being at Everton. Still, wouldn't be at all surprised to see him back here as manager in a few years time.

they've made Giggs player/coach as well. Well set up there now, Scholes is working with the kids, Giggs playing and coaching, Pip first team coach - all know ManUre inside-out, and Neville also knows Moyes inside out too. You can see all three of them having careers in coaching/management, so the Mancs are potentially setting up a bit of a dynasty there.

It all sounds great, im still sceptical about whether Moyes and Pip have the experience and know how to be successful at a club the size of United. Replacing Ferguson no one is every going to do, but the bottom line is that they've bought someone in with no winning experience and his right hand man has very little coaching experience.
When things weren't going to plan Ferguson could turn things round, generally with the hair dryer, not sure Moyes will have that same powers over the likes of Ferdinand, Rooney, RVP, Evra..... Look at how the Chelsea old guard have made life difficult for their new managers.

They'll never win anything with a bunch of kids.tadpole wrote:hairy cataract wrote:they've made Giggs player/coach as well. Listening to this interview, it's as if he never played for us. Also interesting to hear that the pressure is on us, like we are "expected" to win. If that's really what he means, then, oh my, this is indeed an interesting time of change.

Phil Neville has left Man United’s coaching staff to become Match of the Day pundit.

I thought that! It was overloaded with ex RS on Tv last season! Lawrenson and Redknapp are the 2 that annoy me the most though. The rest arent too bad.

Neville is shite as a pundit, just too dull. Rio is a good signing for MOTD, he was surprisingly good at the WC. Shearer is a tit, Danny Murphy is okay but a bit boring, Lawro makes me laugh, Hansen was past his sell by date so I'm glad he's gone. I still rate Gary Lineker though.

I think he is on the BBC, but regardless I quite like Danny Mills. I was surprised when he was named on that select FA panel. I assumed he was a gormless nobtit, based on his playing career, but he actually seems switched on and talks some sense.

The problem with Danny Mills is that he sounds exactly like Ron Atkinson when commentating.
He confused the Hell out of me in the World Cup, I was wondering who in the world would give Ron his job back on the telly?

Re: 18: Phil Neville - ex Captain Fantastic
Former Manchester United and England defender Phil Neville has taken charge of training at Valencia following the resignation of Nuno Espirito Santo. Nuno announced on Sunday he was leaving after just over one season in charge. Neville joined Valencia as assistant manager in July, having previously been first-team coach at Manchester United. The former Everton captain, 38, took training along with coach Voro ahead of Valencia's Copa del Rey last-32 tie at Barakaldo on Wednesday.
Valencia's next La Liga match is at home to champions Barcelona on Saturday.
