West Ham vs Everton
Right, time to start my first match thread of the season…
After the sad death of Bill Kenwright, David Golds, this week’s opponents West Ham’s owner is (very much off the top of my head) the last “local boy done good” to be running a premier league team. I don’t know about you, but there’s something a bit sad about that and how football is going in general, but that’s all by the by as there’s another 3 points on offer here.
West Ham have been very good in the main this season. However, they lost away in Greece this week and have a league cup game coming up (as do we) so maybe this game might come at a good time for us. We’ll be without Young, which isn’t exactly terminal but let’s hope his deputy Paterson can keep it together positionally.
Not an easy game but I also think we’ve shown enough to get something out of it. 1-2 to the toffees!

Re: West Ham vs Everton
Fancy us for a 2-1. Win tomorrow, West Ham not playing to well beaten badly at Villa last week.
UTFs DCL and Deucourie to get the goals.

Re: West Ham vs Everton
Got up early and just sat down to watch it, only to find you've changed the clocks. Won't have time to watch it all now, so we'll win 0-3.

UTFT. Some really good hard shifts put in there today. That’s 3 of the 12 points that’s the Premier League can shove where the Sun don’t shine.

That’s the first time West Ham haven’t scored a goal at home in 18 games. Great shift for the blues there. Wonderful to see Dom fit and firing, credit to Dyche and his staff for managing his recovery so well.

Great result. Bill would have been beaming.

Re: West Ham vs Everton
Driving back from Norfolk while the game was going on. Got me thinking that I should go for one of my superstitious, self-imposed "don't watch them until they lose again" exiles...
...then remembered that I'm going up there for the cup game on Wednesday. Ah well, that was a nice cup run while it lasted.

Re: West Ham vs Everton
No idea what all the pessimism has been about, we're clearly going to win the league
Re: West Ham vs Everton

Re: West Ham vs Everton
A really great battling performance by the boys! WH clearly not at their best, but some of that was down to us defending well.
Crucial save by Pickford towards the end there, making himself cover as much of the goal as possible and getting close to the WH player.
WH have some cunts on their team though. That Kudus guy, yep, he's one.

Btw, it was a great football weekend for me - Everton won and the Denver Broncos FINALLY beat the Kansas City Chiefs after losing to them 16 straight times!

Although I distinctly remember through the cold and alcoholic haze that you attended an Everton v West Ham match wearing a MAROON tie
How's that coat by the way?
