20 - Dele Alli - ready to explode
Tottenham’s Dele Alli is being watched closely by a number of Premier League teams, according to the Daily Mail. Brighton are reportedly joining Newcastle Burnley and Everton in the chase to sign the 25-year-old midfielder. And the Daily Echo adds that Southampton have expressed an interest too.

Everton are also among a number of Premier League clubs, including Burnley, looking into signing Tottenham's England midfielder Dele Alli, 25. (Mail)

Re: 20 - Dele Alli - ready to explode
Frank Lampard is in the door as Everton manager. Donny van de Beek is on the verge of signing. Is there time for another development.
Everton are looking at the possibility of signing Spurs misfit Dele Alli, a player much admired by Lampard but who has figured in only six games under manager Antonio Conte.
The added complication is that Everton's loan quota is full after the deals for Van de Beek and Anwar El Ghazi from Aston Villa.
This means Everton would have to sign Alli permanently and time may be against agreeing a deal with Spurs. One to watch.
What fucking idiot signed El Ghazi then ????

Twitter rumours are saying that we are signing Alli on a free, with a £10m payment once he has played 20 games.

'Breakthrough in Alli move to Everton'
Sky Sports News' Paul Gilmour at the Tottenham training ground:
"Things are moving very quickly all the time on this. A breakthrough has been made on Alli's move from Tottenham to Everton and even a medical is booked in.
"It's a two-and-a-half year contract, which has still not been formally agreed, but sources are telling us this is looking good.
"Frank Lampard is a key factor in this deal happening so things are accelerating, especially in the last 30 minutes or so."

He was a great player when he was a kid, but he's a total waster these days. Watch him in the Spurs documentary from when Jose was in charge, the lad couldn't give a fuck, he was finished years ago and now he's just stealing a living - and it's our turn to be the victim.
We might get half a dozen performances out of him, but then he'll be back on TikTok, messing around. He's not into football anymore, you can tell. He's had enough managers, of all different types, and each of them has despaired of getting anything out of him

Re: 20 - Dele Alli - ready to explode
If the rumours are true that its on a free with up £10m depending on games, well its a gamble worth taking. We are in no position to get anyone any good so maybe Lampard can get something out of him?

Re: 20 - Dele Alli - ready to explode
he's only 25 & surely a better option on the team sheet, even as sub than Iwobi ?
I think he'll be massive for us if he signs

...and wtf with El Ghazi?? FSW did the business on us even in the last few days. Gets rid of Digne, gets a shit loan in,meaning we cant get anyone else and spunks a fortune on an absolutely useless LB. I hope Patterson can be a success but otherwise a disaster from the fat cunt. If wr get Alli and VDB Ibdoubt El Ghazi will get a look in.

I think it could work out. As you say, if it means Iwobi is way further down the list then it cant be bad. Especially this late in the window and on a FREE!!

was just wondering .. if we loan El Ghazi out today can we loan another in ??? .. ie. is the quota the amount of loans made... or the amount of loans on actually the books ?callmebubbles wrote:...and wtf with El Ghazi?? Sky Sports News are told the transfer fee for Dele Alli's move from Tottenham to Everton has the potential to reach £40m.callmebubbles wrote:Made 4 Gwladys wrote:he's only 25 & surely a better option on the team sheet, even as sub than Iwobi ?

The transfer fee will be structured based on performance-related add-ons.

Why did we sign Donny as well then? How many number 10s can we play?

If it's based on performance, I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs end up owing us money. Look, I hope he turns into Dele Mk 1, but how do we fit him and VDB into the team? Aren't they both attacking no 10s? And isn't our main problem at the back of our team, rather than at the front? So in this window we've picked up two schoolboy defenders, a winger we don't need, and two number 10s, when what we needed was ready-to-go defenders, a new CB, a number 6, and a number 8.
Re: 20 - Dele Alli - ready to explode
hmm. agree we need defensive reinforcements, but at least we are solving the depth issues we have in midfield... surely we'll play 3 in midfield now FFS..hairy cataract wrote:Made 4 Gwladys wrote:Sky Sports News are told the transfer fee for Dele Alli's move from Tottenham to Everton has the potential to reach £40m.callmebubbles wrote:Made 4 Gwladys wrote:he's only 25 & surely a better option on the team sheet, even as sub than Iwobi ?

Still some time... maybe we have a CB ace up our sleeves somewhere late on... although probably not.
I still don't understand the business the fat arsewipe did as his cameo... I hope he chokes on a paella

Perhaps VDB will play deeper? It looks like he enjoys a tackle on Youtube (where all the best scouting is done).

yeah, he has said that he's happy to play as a 6 or an 8, as longs he plays. Dele has looked a bit shit when he's dropped deeper for Spurs so, if anyone has to take the number 8 position, it will be Donny

Agreed there. If FL can get him remotivated (?) it's a fine steal and from Daniel Levy of all people.callmebubbles wrote:If the rumours are true that its on a free with up £10m depending on games, well its a gamble worth taking. It's basically another loan for 20 games, with an option to buy for £10M.
If he's not worth it after 19 games, send him back.

Re: 20 - Dele Alli - ready to explode
Well, our squad is a bit stronger now than it was the last time we tried to play football. And we have a manager as well.
Not the most profound post you've ever read in your lives, granted. But small, sensible steps forward are the way to go right now. Maybe we can quietly revert to being a normal football club again, instead of a crap Naked Gun parody.

Re: 20 - Dele Alli - ready to explode
Confirmed on BBC website. I have to say the deal is incredibly creative. He has lifeline to resurrect his quite remarkable talent. We pay small sum up front and if he is performing for 20 games £10m is peanuts. The £40m is if he wins Ballon D'Or.... and if he is in a position to earn that then I would have been well satisfied at the implied results and performance and would more than likely willingly pay more....
We all need to settle and let the team do what they know they need to do....
