Re: Brentford v Everton
HT 1-0.
Not sure why there was no VAR check on the shirt pulling on Rondon in the box at the very end there.

Re: Brentford v Everton
Surely worth throwing Tosun on. What have we got to lose (apart from our Premier league status)?

Re: Brentford v Everton
Utterly useless. We are easily one of the worst 3 teams in the division and doubt we will get another point until the New Year. The years of awful buying have caught up with us and it feels inevitable that 'agent FSW' will be the manager to take us down after all these years. The club is in a sorry state!!!

Re: Brentford v Everton
I've been totally behind Rafa so far, but I don't understand having three strikers on the bench and not bringing a couple of them on for the last ten minutes, when Gray was running riot down the right getting crosses in? What's the worst that could have happened, Brentford scoring a second?
I really don't get it.
Doucoure's return was a plus, but everything else was a big fat stinking minus.
Can't wait for Wednesday, it's going to be a level of pain that we haven't felt for a long time, probably outstripping even the Glen Keeley derby. Good for the soul I suppose, all this suffering.

Yeah, surely get Tosun on. I know he's no world beater but Rondon didn't look like scoring, and nor did Iwobi who seemed to be playing up front towards the end

Re: Brentford v Everton
We have to assign Rondon to the who-could-be-worse-than-Bernie-Wright bin.
I'm not as worried as many on here. Richie and DCL would have had at least 2 in the final 20 minutes.
We will be twotted over the next 2 weeks, then come 2022 we'll be fine with a decent FA cup run to boot.
To cheer ourselves up, just imagine how much fun it will be when it's snowing, 60 mph winds, and a 1 mile walk to the docks.

It's not inevitable but nobody should rule it out as an absolute possibility.
We are a fucking mess. If we can get a stretch in the new year with our best players back, we should get enough points to be OK. But we know from previous years, once you get sucked in to the scrap at the bottom, it's very difficult to get out.
Re: Brentford v Everton
That is the problem. We are totally reliant on having all our injured players back and at full fitness a.s.a.p and that they wont get injured again. By the time that happens (if it ever does) we will be in the mire. DCL and Doucoure are irreplaceable and our squad is paper thin. If we are lucky and players return AND we improve the squad in January then we may be OK, but the squad of fit players, as it stands,, is probably the 2nd worse in the division after Norwich. Wednesday could be the low of the low. Utterly dreading it.

Re: Brentford v Everton
Well after yesterdays performance Everton can safely say the Fans have turned, three strikers on the bench and Benitez sticks with the worse option Rondon.
Yesterdays game was made for Ellis Simms But, Benitez sticks with Rondon and Awobie , on top all this Benitez shows no emotion which reads he couldn't care less,
wait for the Kopite shouts of Agent Benitez should we go down its just going to be terrible.

I'm not the type to call for the young players to be given a go when they're clearly not ready. So, I can accept that Rafa thinks Simms and Dobbin aren't ready. But we were losing with ten minutes to go, and Gray was pinging crosses in from the right. So I'd just like to know what Rafa thought we stood to lose by bringing on either or both of them, or even fucking Tosun, for a few minutes to see if we could get a goal by overloading up front. What's the worst that could happen?
Did he genuinely think that Iwobi/Gordon/ Digne/Godfrey/Allan or whoever he took off would stand a better chance of scoring than a young striker? Did he think that Rondon was doing such a good job upfront that we really didn't need someone else alongside him?
Anyway, stupidly, I've decided to go on Wednesday. I know it's going to be a cold, miserable night of humiliation. I know the RS will be chanting Rafa's name. I know it can't end well. There's something wrong with me, some kind of masochism issue I think.

I can offer you no reassurance on the football front. I did check the weather forecast to see if that would make the experience a tiny bit more palatable, and nah, you'll freeze your cock off.
