Aston Villa v Everton
Aston Villa v Everton. Friday 25th August 2019
Everton travel to Villa park to face newly promoted Aston Villa, Live on Sky-sports at 20.00pm
Villa have made a poor start to the season? losing away to Spurs on the opening game of the season, then losing at home too Bournemouth.
Will be a tough test for the toffees but? hoping for a 0-2 away win.
Moise Kean to score a brace.

Re: Aston Villa v Everton
We should really be winning this one, the team will have had another week to get fit and to gel, so I'm expecting Iwobi to have a game too (can he play on the right, so we can move Richarlison up front?).
0-3 Richarlison, Syggi and Kean to get on the score sheet

Sheff United beat Palace and Brighton beat Watford comfortable,we have struggled in both games against Palace and Watford, although are defence yet to concede a goal,
DCL wastes far too much energy tracking back instead of leading the line with the last man, Gbamin still finding his pace while both Richarlison and Sigurdsson both stank the place out.
Everyone's concern at the start of the season was are defence, when in-fact it's the Midfield/Attack? Were we are struggling.
Hope both Delph/Iwobie fit? because we are seriously struggling.
Re: Aston Villa v Everton
we've got a new midfielder mate, and a new striker, both will need time to get fit and get up to speed of the prem, even Richarlison was late coming back from the summer cos of the americas cup (or whatever the spanish version of that is), the team should be getting better with each game. Unfortunately DCL doesn't get any better at his main job, which is scoring goals, so let's hope Kean can start a game soon.SEFTON wrote:Sack the Juggler wrote:We should really be winning this one, the team will have had another week to get fit and to gel, so I'm expecting Iwobi to have a game too (can he play on the right, so we can move Richarlison up front?).

Win this and we go top of the league, where we will almost certainly stay until the end of the season. Lose it and we will probably go down.
That's how important this game is.

Shows how much we are missing Gana Guye, Gbamin will take time to ajust in the premiership, but? for 75 minutes, Dcl was the lone striker doing Sigurdsson's Job, dropping back,
maybe we should replace Sigurdsson with Iwobie-Gbamin with Delph and start Moise Kean who should had a brace in the 20 minutes he was on against Watford, looks like Baines will step in for the Injured Digne.

Why oh why are we playing on Friday!?
It's probably not so bad with an 8PM kick-off in England, but for those people who live 7 time zones behind it's rather shite.

Then again if we win..... we have from 10pm till about 10:45 (in M4Gs case) before we have to get tucked into bed.... you on the other hand Thor have another 7 hours boozing.....

Cue last famous words.Armchair wrote:We should beat this shower.
Since our performance was so-so against Watford, I am hoping for a game with better tempo and that Kean bags a goal or two.

Re: Aston Villa v Everton
You're probably right, although we haven't conceded a goal so far this season, we've only played two teams and both of them are shyte. Palace still haven't scored yet, and Watford haven't scored a goal or won a point.Gravy&Chips2 wrote:We'll bottle it, we always do

Villa on the other hand have scored two goals; one against Spuds, and one against Brighton, although they haven't won a game, so we are bang on to give them their first win.
I reckon our defence and midfield are working hard to close down chances for attackers, but its still not good enough, so I can see Villa keeping up their run and scoring against us too. But with DCL upfront I can't see us getting a goal, so we'll probably get beat 1-0, or maybe salvage a draw 1-1 if someone else can muster up a goal....
.... nah, just kidding, 3-0 to the blues!
Re: Aston Villa v Everton
We'll win this 1-0. Or at least so I hope.
Btw, when was the last time DCL scored in ANY game? Don't think he scored at all in the preseason, even though not many did....
Time for Kean to get a start?

Re: Aston Villa v Everton
Everton manager Marco Silva makes one change from the team that defeated Watford at the weekend.
Midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is available after a ban, so drops into midfield in place of Jean-Philippe Gbamin. That means there's no starting place for big money summer signings Moise Kean or Alex Iwobi.
Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne, Schneiderlin, Gomes, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Bernard, Calvert-Lewin
Subs: Stekelenburg, Holgate, Walcott, Iwobi, Sidibe, Davies, Kean

I'm not overly surprised that Kean doesn't start, but I sure was hoping for it.
Re: Aston Villa v Everton
Everton Manager Marco Silva speaking on Sky Sports:
"It’s too early to talk about the top six. You have to prove you are in a good moment every week."
On when Moise Kean will start:
"When he shows to me in training he’s ready and that he’s better than the others. He’s a quality player but we have to give him time to perform in the way we want.
"We are starting with Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front and we have other solutions from the bench but we are very pleased with him.
"Dominic is a young player also, we have young players who have quality and different qualities across the front line. Dominic is working hard, when you play with one forward it is very hard and he has not scored yet but I hope he starts tonight.
"I'm really confident we have enough quality to start creating more. When you look at our bench now we have many players who can help us."
