Re: Everton 2 Aston Villa 1 (Naismith, Mirallas)
Everton have had 70% of possession so far - but they trail. Frustrating stuff for the fans at Goodison Park.
Well, with Villa defending well and being so compact, it'll be a tough afternoon to get a win out of this one.
Re: Everton 2 Aston Villa 1 (Naismith, Mirallas)
70% possession .... fuck off

Absolute shite.
We're just not quite there yet, and Villa have played us perfectly. Can't see anything changing second half. They'll get a second on the break, we might get a consolation in the last minute, but that's about it.
I'm not getting too worked up about it, like I say it's a transition season and we've probably over-achieved so far. The rest of the season is about trying to recapture our mojo and seeing what happens with the players we have. I think we'll have to buy big in the summer but, I have to be honest, Martinez has bought very badly so far. The loans have been good, but Kone, Alcarazy, McGeedy have all been a bit shit. Only McCarthy has looked good enought.

Re: Everton 2 Aston Villa 1 (Naismith, Mirallas)
I would like to see us replace Osman with Vellios at half time and put Mirallas back on the wing. We have had lots of possession but lacked a cutting edge. Baines has seen a lot of the ball and it would make sense to have a big striker in the box who could cause Villa problems from crosses. Hopefully we won't see Naismith come on again.

I, and a lot of others, wanted us to try Mirallas up front but Villa are just smothering us. I'm not sure Jelli would have fared any better. We need to keep plugging away and hope we get a free kick on the edge of the box, cos I can't see us scoring any other way. Most important is to stop them getting a second on the break cos that really would be game over.
If i'm honest, I can see us ending up with 60% possession again and losing 4-0 again

Vellios is shite. I'd rather we put Distin up front, Stones in at CB and Coleman on at RB. Alternatively Just get Naismith on.

let's be honest.. our only striking options are in the treatment room x3 and at fucking Hull....Mr_Ben wrote:Dixie Land wrote:I would like to see us replace Osman with Vellios at half time and put Mirallas back on the wing. Re: Everton 2 Aston Villa 1 (Naismith, Mirallas)
At least we'll have natural width on the left side now.
Re: Everton 2 Aston Villa 1 (Naismith, Mirallas)
I would guess that it's a pretty minor one, taken off as a precaution more than anything.hairberto cataract wrote:Fuck we're doomed, Barks injured again.

Stones and McGeedy down the right will strike the fear of god into the opposition up and down the country....
Re: Everton 2 Aston Villa 1 (Naismith, Mirallas)

No, he might be good in the future, but he looks utter shite right now. He's dreadful.

THe worry is how bad we look with just a couple of players either missing or not fully fit - Coleman and Barkley have been our best players so far and without them, or without them at full force, we look very ordinary. Baines has lost a lot of his danger this season for some reason, maybe the style we play I dunno
