It was like watching the Straq! Looks like he has a bit of a heavy first touch but let's see how he fares once he is fully fit.

Re: 28. Lacina Traore - apparently on loan to Everton
Everton will be without Lacina Traore for a ‘weeks rather than months’.
The striker, on loan from Monaco, pulled up in the warm-up before Saturday’s game against Chelsea with a hamstring problem.
Martinez told evertontv: “It is going to take a long period of time which at this stage of the season will be a big miss. It will be weeks rather than months.
“It’s a really disappointing outcome. He was ready and had been working really hard since he arrived at the club. Starting the game at Chelsea was the next target after Swansea and for him to pull his hamstring in the last action of the warm-up was a really disappointing moment.
“We are a little bit concerned. We are working with his parent club and making sure we get the right diagnosis. Lacina was really down after and we need to support him. We will find out over the next 48 hours how we will treat the injury.”
Indeed, the nature of the injury means there is no scope for the player to be rushed back.
Martinez added: “It is a soft tissue injury in the hamstring very similar to a previous injury he had.
“In those sort of injuries, similar to the injury Gerard Deulofeu picked up before Christmas, the soft tissue is an area which needs to be well healed. It is going to take a long period of time which at this stage of the season will be a big miss.”

Fuck me, I hope we still have the receipt. How much have we had to pay for a total of 60 minutes football?
We won't be seeing that lanky cunt in an Everton shirt again.

Re: 28. Lacina Traore - apparently on loan to Everton
Lacina Traore could face surgery to repair his damaged hamstring, Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed.
The striker pulled out of Saturday's defeat at Chelsea and the Club are currently working closely with Monaco to determine the best possible treatment for the on-loan Ivorian.
Martinez said: "At the moment, it's too early to have a final answer on Traore because we don't know how long he's going to be out. "I think it's important that we're working together with Monaco, because I think what we need to get right is that the player gets the perfect treatment. "When I say the perfect treatment, this is not a straightforward injury. It's an injury that can be solved by a conservative treatment, or it can involve surgery - and I think that's a massive, massive decision. "Depending what route we're going down, it's going to have certain consequences. It could mean that Lacina can play for us again or he can't.“If it’s only going to be three or four weeks, we want him here. If it’s going to be anything longer than two or three months, clearly the loan period is over. It is going to depend how the conversations go today."
Traore joined the Blues from Monaco in January and made a goalscoring debut against Swansea City earlier this month.
And Martinez added: "Surgery can only be the resort if it's the right resort. "That's something that at the moment we're exploring and making sure that, with the medical department of Monaco, we're getting all the information right. "He is still a young man, but he is a sprinter. We need to make sure he's fully, fully fit for the years ahead in his career."

If he leaves the club he will surely have one of the best goal scoring stats in our history .. played 61 mins - 1 goalSuper wrote:Lacina Traore could face surgery to repair his damaged hamstring, Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed.

I wonder who pays for all this treatment? Insurance? If so, our premiums are going to be going up after this season
Re: 28. Lacina Traore - apparently on loan to Everton
Let's just shove him in an extra long coffin and send him back to Monaco by post. He's never going to play for us again so why waste our time any more.

One game, one goal. Statistically one of our best ever strikers.

FFS, the RS have two top strikers who are made of granite (certainly ratboy is). We have average strikers who are made of glass.

Is it something to do with our training ??... we seem to have more than our fair share of hamstring injuries

Whilst there may be problems with our training, I think Traore has a bit of a history of hamstring knacks and they knew about this when we got him. Allardyce made a comment on it, too as he was in for him.

Re: 28. Lacina Traore - apparently on loan to Everton
Roberto Martinez confirms Lacina Traore will not require surgery and he hopes to have the player back playing for Everton in 6 weeks.
"With Lacina we've seen the specialists and it's not going to be surgery, which is fantastic news. We're expecting between 6 and 8 weeks to be the period he needs to be recovering, but we're all very positive. It's fantastic news that he doesn't need surgery, as it means he's going to be available for the end of the season."
