Maybe Gueye will get a game after all!
currently injured:
saha, anichebe, coleman, fellaini, arteta, Cahill, Rodwell, Baxter
thats the entire 1st choice midfield and striker plus a couple of subs gone
current midfield options that aren't carrying and injury available at the moment are:
Ossie, Neville, heitinga,Bilya, Gueye
and upfront we've got Beckford.
we'll struggle to fill the bench unless some of the wounded recover.
Will have to hope Coleman's ankle injury isn't too bad. apparently Cahill has been playing through the pain with a foot problem for a while now as well and needs to rest badly but knowing him and DM he'll play unless he's lost a leg.
There is still over week before the Villa game, by which time our injury crisis may have eased, hopefully.
Luckily, we are at home to a Villa team in dis-array.
anichebe, cahill, coleman i'd expect back or in cahill's case to play anyway
it could be worth giving the unpopular midfield pairing of Heitinga and neville a go if Gueye is required to start. he looks to have a lot of potential going forward particulalry from the left but I wouldn't trust him to cover for Baines when he bombs forward so an extra defensive player covering from the middle would help.
however if non of the injured return i'd not be too dissapointed to see us tryhoward
hibbert Jags Distin Baines
Ossie heit nev Gueye
Bilya
Beckford
watch Baines and jags get done in the england game now.
Vic played, set up and scored goals for Nigeria so he's probably going to be fine.
Vic and Beckford upfront then. could work if vic is willing to put in a shift.

that's for me is what makes Vic so shite and frustrating, he's got the size, pace and strength to be a real handful and he's fleetingly shown that he can do it, but more often than not he'll spend 85% of the time he's on the pitch moaning or sitting on his arse after being knocked off the ball by a gust of wind.
Re: Everton 2 (Osman, Baines (pen.)) Aston Villa 2
Downing versus Hibbert will make this match. Coleman, if playing, really needs to track back
I think we also need to be careful Baines doesn't get caught upfield and leave Young free to attack.

i dont think it is going to be as easy as what we think. they are fighting for their lives, and we dont appear to have any ambitions left, although europe is a distant target

We've entered the bubble, nowhere land. Not going to go down, too far really off Euro places to press ahead. With injuries now stockpiling, we will just (or continue to!) get erratic performances from here on in. A couple of soul sapping 0-1 home defeats await, a few heartening 2-0 away wins too.
Roll the dice.....

I wouldn't say europe is out of the question yet, but maybe I'm being too optimistic, stranger things have happened.

If Bolton or Stoke win the FA Cup then only 5th place will get us into Europe.

Nsiala
Born in Congo, Nsiala moved to Liverpool in 2002.
He joined the Everton set-up in 2007 and is now a full-time scholar.
The speedy defender is renowned for his strong accurate tackling ability. These traits saw him play for the Under-18 side on a number of occasions in 2008/09, before progressing to the reserves the following season.
He even made the subs' bench for a Europa League dead rubber against BATE Borisov in December 2009.
Toto emerged as a reserve team regular at the start of 2010/11 campaign before earning a loan move to League Two outfit Macclesfield Town.

McAleny joined Everton’s academy at just 11 and in the summer of 2008 has been recruited as a full-time scholar.
The diminutive yet pacy striker has impressed as a forward in his years at the club.
He became part of the Under-18s squad in 2008/09, netting a number of important goals - a role which increased the following season.
McAleny was also handed a squad number in 2009/10 but is yet to feature for the senior team.

Top one appears to work if you leave it for a couple of minutes to finish buffering.
