I read about that somewhere else and it was basically the kiss of death to his EFC career

From Toffeepleb..
if true
Fenerbahce looking to haggle over Yobo fee
Fenerbahce are hopeful of making Joseph Yobo's loan move from Everton permanent this summer per the original agreement but it seems as though a fee was not agreed up front.
The Turkish club are apparently balking at the €8m asking price and are looking to pay something closer to €3m to €4m for the Nigerian defender.

Everton centre back Joseph Yobo has discouraged a return to Goodison Park following his season-long loan with Turkish side Fenerbahce.
Although Yobo referred to the Club as ´family´, the Nigerian distanced himself with a return back to Merseyside.
Yobo: "It´s a difficult one for me because Everton is like family to me. The supporters, the manager, the chairman, everyone.
"But I am enjoying myself at the moment at Fenerbahce and the most important thing is being happy, and towards the end, I wasn´t happy. I am contracted to Everton but I dont really think I´ll be going back there.
"Because the most important thing is even if I go back there, and I am not happy, that wont be good.
"I can´t thank the supporters enough, and I enjoyed my time at Everton. Some of my best memories in my career were at Everton and I can never forget that."
Re: 4: Joey Yobo - left-over Turkey
I wonder if we'll try to hold out for the €8m we want... or let him go for less ?
Shame.. I always liked Joey
..btw.. from the note above it doesn't look like he fell out with Moyes

Can't say that I'm too fussed about him not coming back. Always thought he was a disaster waiting to happen. Probably won't get a lot for him though.

We could still get the 16 year old Yakubu back though when he has gained some experience. I still dont think the 8 month old Anichebe is ready though.

Night all.

Always liked joey, think at times he's made mistakes but so have all our defenders. Can't see how anything he did was as bad as jagielka's assist against villa a few years back for example.

I read something Prentice wrote a few months ago, cant remember exactly what it said but I think it was something about him ruling himself out of an everton game with a strain but then played for a nigeria a few days later...Moyes didnt take kindly to it.
Makes me wonder what Yak did to piss him off as I really still dont see the logic of loaning him to Leicester

At least it created the space to get Saha in the team.

Tying his fucking shoelaces against charlton was 10 times worse.
Yeah, I think we all liked Joey. He was Moyes's first signing and he was a good un. Yes, he made some daft mistakes, but his overall contribution to the team was excellent.
Re: 4: Joey Yobo - left-over Turkey
"Mistakes, I've made a few. But then again too few to mention."
IMO he is better then Johnny and has never fancied himself to be a better player than he actually is.
When we signed him permanently it was one of the first indications that Moyes meant business.
I would take him back, if he wanted to come 'home'.
If not, we should ask for a reasonable fee.

Not a massive suprise really. We have Jags, Distin (getting up there but still very good), and Heitinga as CBs. Pip and Rodwell (not ideal by any means I suppose) can fill in if need be, Rodwell maybe more so.Super wrote:http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/everton-plan-cash-yobo-1549711

Re: 4: Joey Yobo - left-over Turkey
Fenerbahce have offered Everton £2m to sign Joseph Yobo on a permanent basis, despite agreeing to a £6m clause when the defender joined the Turkish side on a season's loan last summer.
The Nigeria captain scored the goal that clinched the league title for Fenerbahce on Sunday, his header in a 4-3 win over Sivasspor enabling the Istanbul club to pip Trabzonspor to the title on the head-to-head rule after they finished on equal points.
Turkey's champions have wasted little time attempting to formalise Yobo's move but their opening offer falls way short of Everton's valuation.
Everton's manager David Moyes must again raise his own transfer funds through player sales this summer and wants closer to the original £6m price for Yobo as he looks to rebuild. The defender has three years remaining on his Everton contract but his lucrative salary at Fenerbahce may deter other clubs from declaring an interest and driving up his transfer fee.
Re: 4: Joey Yobo - left-over Turkey
I would hope we could get more than £2m for him, although £6m would be robbery.

I sure hope we hold a bit firm here and just don't him go for £2M, that's just not enough. Tell them to fuck off.. put him on the transfer list for 3-4M to anyone apart from Fernabache.. and if he sulks make him run for 6 hours round the pitch each training session to earn his dosh & play him in the stiffs against Grimsby ressies...Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:I sure hope we hold a bit firm here and just don't him go for £2M, that's just not enough. This absolutely no surprise. I said this would happen earlier in the season! Now lets just wait for Leicester's £1.5m offer for Yakubu and its job done.

Everton face the nightmare of centre half Joseph Yobo returning - after rejecting a £2.5million offer from Fenerbahce. The Turks want to sign Yobo after a season-long loan, but supremo Bill Kenwright wants £5m. He has a year left on his Blues' deal and boss David Moyes wants to sell him.
