Pretty even game but an important win with the run of fixtures we have coming up.

Re: Forest v Everton
yep , that was crucial,,.. Barcodes, Chavs, Spuds & Citeh in our next 5 league games... and the other one is critical too against Burnley.Armchair wrote:Pretty even game but an important win with the run of fixtures we have coming up.

I thought over the 90 minutes we were the better team and deserved the win. The goal was great given that we lack composure in the final third a lot. That ball seemed to go exactly where McNeil intended to put it. Emphatic, good to see.
Gueye and Garner were excellent in the middle. Harrison was quietly very good in a Dycheball sort of way. Young worries me a lot, we need Coleman back asap (why did Forest not target that flank more? Elanga had him on a stick).
Beto was disappointing, and we cannot afford to indulge his "striker in need of a goal" bollocks, snatching at shots when he should be laying it off. It's about more than your goals, fella, just do your job for the team and the rest will take care of itself.
Big win. United was too soon and against the wrong team, for a first game after a massive points deduction. The "Fuck You PL" fightback started today.
Re: Forest v Everton
If not for our PL punishment, we'd be in top half above Chavs.
But spilled milk ain't for the Dycheboys.
If there were ever dogs of war, this is the team.
Who thought McNeil would be indispensable, a year ago?
Now for Newcastle and the return of, dan-dan-ddaaaa,Mr Gordon.

Re: Forest v Everton
Up to 11th now* and showing we can grind out results away from home. I thought our defence and Jimmy Garner were outstanding. Beto and Chermiti are classic Everton strikers in that they’re both really shit. Harrison and McNeil are bang average but they work hard tracking back.
Overall I think Dyche is doing an astonishing job with this bunch of fairly talentless mediocrities. To be 11th* with a squad like ours is Manager Of The Season levels of over-achievement
*pending appeal

The question is, are we going to stick with Ashley Young against Gordon and Livramento next week?

Garner is fucking great, clearly our best player now, along with Pickford. Comfortably the best player on the pitch today. I thought Gueye did a really good job as well. He will always fuck up in possession from time to time but we really harried them in midfield today, never let them settle.
Forest without Brennan Johnson are a bit toothless, their better players are all a bit samey.
