Everton v Stoke
I'm happy to start this thread as we'll be with family on Boxing Day so I won't have to watch more of the turgid shite we've been serving up this season. Stoke will be licking their lips at the prospect of playing us. They'll be lumping balls into our box all game and we'll be busy shitting bricks every time they do. Hopefully we can scrape a draw to move one point closer to our 40 point target.
1-1 Stanley Matthews for them, Big Vic Mark II (aka Luka) for us.

Re: Everton v Stoke
I can never normally bring myself to say we are going to lose a game but I think we will lose this one.
1-3 to Stoke (but according to RM it will only be the goals that were the difference between the teams

Re: Everton v Stoke
Another game where a win would be a pleasant surprise. 1-1 it is then, if we can pull our fingers out of our arses.
Re: Everton v Stoke
It's a must win. We say that all too often, but we've reached another watershed moment.
I've mentioned it before, but even when we've scored (the 3 against QPR) there seems to be no joy or even a smile about it.
Prove me wrong RM, and you haven't in some small way lost the players' trust.

Re: Everton v Stoke
Sorry, but I have been an Evertonian long before Martinez and his band of merry men came too town, I still will be long after he goes,
I can't bring myself to be Negative ,I believe in all that ''once Everton have touched you'' melarky .
Big Dunc to do the team talk while Martinez searches his sack (not for presents either) Unsworth holds the defence hostage and gives them a piece of his mind.
Sharpy buts in and tells Naismith to step up to the plate, while ,Dunc has a word in Lukaku's ear , fuck up again and i'll be going back to jail for something more serious .
2-0 Lukaku brace with big Duncs foot prints on his shorts.

Re: Everton v Stoke
and so on to Stoke at home on Boxing Day
- we've never played the Potters on that date before
- but we have played more games in total (86) on December 26th than on any other date in the year
- strangely, 3 of our last 4 December 26 outings have been against Sunderland
- the last one was last year's 1-0 home defeat to the Mackems
- but we do have an okay W3 D3 L1 record in our most recent 7 Boxing Day fixtures
- we've won our last 2 home games against Stoke - 4-0 last season
- and our recent record is W7 D2 L1 in their last 10 visits
- overall, home and away, we're unbeaten in our last 5 encounters - W2 D3 L0
- one goal this time round would take us to 200 in the League against Stoke, home and away
- interestingly, we've never had a player sent off against Stoke (they've had 2 against us)
- and the referee this season is Lee Mason
- we have a W4 D1 L0 record in the last 5 games with him in the middle

Re: Everton v Stoke
..... if someone who has never scored for us before does manage to find the net against Stoke, then they will become the 500th different scorer in our history (not including own goals). So that could be Besic ... or Kone ... or (it'll never happen) Tony Hibbert .....

Not a good thing this season
Re: Everton v Stoke
Looking forward to the game.
Boxing day 7pm kick off here. I am cooking leftover pie for dinner and going to have a decent glass of wine and some nice beer (lager) for the match.

Having watched Stoke play Chelsea the other day I wouldn't be surprised if they (Stoke) won fairly easily.

We'll win 2-1. We're not a bad a team like everyone currently thinks - just underachieving.

Re: Everton v Stoke
Good news if true :
Everton have been handed a boost by news that Kevin Mirallas (ankle) and James McCarthy (hamstring) are both expected to be fit.
