David Moyes become the 4th manager in Premier League history to win 150 matches after Ferguson, Wenger and Redknapp.

He still needs to big-up his players.
After saying all the right things about Hibbo etc, he then finished the interview I heard with "The current players are not as good as the ones we've had in the past, but ........................."

Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
The "Moyes for Spurs" bandwagon is hotting up nicely in the media, but they seem to be missing something obvious about yesterday's games.
Everton's win over Chelsea was an example of Moyes management style at its very best. Chelsea were sloppy, arrogant and weak and Moyes's team exploited that brilliantly with a determined, committed display which earned a deserved victory. Meanwhile over at Spurs, a free-flowing display led to a 5-0 crushing of a Newcastle team which has many Everton-like qualitities. And Louis Saha scored twice and made another. Because Redknapp played two up front. Moyes never played Saha with a proper strike partner, and Saha couldn't score to save his fucking life this season until he went to Spurs.
The last person Spurs need is Moyes.

I suspect Spurs know this too but they are not exactly going to come out & say (when the time comes) "Moyes is a boring defensive manager so we're not interested"

Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
In fairness to Moyes, he often has had to work with some real cloggers at Everton so there is no surprise that the football can be dour at times. When our flair players have been on song we played some nice footy (and still do). Arteta, Pienaar, Ossie, Felli, Baines etc have been a joy to watch at times. I think Moyes will be on the shortlist for the Spuds job but the board would prefer to get someone like Mourinho if they can.

Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
I think we need another young, ambitious manager from the Championship, not journeyman manager like AVB or Pardew who will stay for a couple of years and then leave when something better comes along. Our success over the past ten years is largely due to Moyes stamping his philosophy all over the club, not just managing the first team squad. Nigel Adkins at Southampton looks like a good candidate.

He surely wouldn't join a small club like us anyway.
Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
In his time here, DM has had some creaky moments, and a few dismal runs, which may have been too much for the likes of Levy or Ashley etc. DM could easily have been dumped if he had been elsewhere.
The deal DM has here, is that he has almost total control, without hindrance from "Directors of Football" and the various other positions to undermine the manager's position. Not to forget that he secretly loves being the underdog.
I believe DM see's EFC as HIS club, and it will take a massive carrot to move him along just yet.
I don't see him moving any time in the next few years.
Then again, WTF do I know?
