Well we are his favourite venue... went as far as to say that some weeks back... that it was brillaint for him to be invited first game back at the "ground with the most savvy fans - know what they want and expect to see... and KNOW the game"....

Who did they give the 'man of the match' to? Was trying to watch on Everton TV but it kept buffering and stuttering. Sounded pretty good anyway.

Good run out that. Not quite as impressive as at Deepdale but good nonetheless.
I'm impressed that throughout all the pre-season games we've tried to keep the ball on the deck as much as possible, knocking it around until something opens up. While the boys can ping it about quickly there's a real air of patience and a control in their game at the minute. Having said that we've also scored some 'ugly' goals too and I'm liking the way we can mix it up.
I thought the return of Fellaini was a big, big plus for us. He pretty much carried on from where he left off tonight. Strong in the tackle (good to see his injury hasn't shaken him), dominate in the air and more than comfortable in possession. Nice to see that he's covering more ground these days too. While Arteta may orchestrate how Everton play, Fellaini will be the man who stops the opposition from playing. A key player for us.
Beckford looked a little hit and miss, to me. First off, a cracking header. Nice to see he has that in his locker. Some good runs off the ball too. He's always looking to peel away from the defender and get in behind and offers us a long 'get out ball' because of his pace. My concern is his touch, passing and decision making. It's not that I think his first touch is woeful or anything, he does show some neat control at times, it's juts that it's very inconsistent. Or at least appears to be from the matches I've watched. The same with his passing. Some of his lay offs are quick and keep the ball moving while others are behind the man or played into defenders. It could be something that will improve with both proper match sharpness as the season progresses or maybe just develops as he plays with better players, but it is a concern I have over him. We'll see and the main thing right now is that he's netting. One at the Gwladys Street End will do his confidence the world of good.

Goals being shown on SSN. Beckfords header was a peach.
I presume our shirts will have names on the back when then the season starts?

Highlights appeared on evertontv overnight
beckford is a delight, big grin throughout the match, linked up well with pretty much everyone. Be interesting to see if he can cut it against PL defences.
PMSL at Vaughan, already on the floor, trying to head the ball the goalie scrambled across the goalmouth.
