I thought I'd start this one. No good reason, but I have a feeling.

We've established that you can't play a whole season on emotion, but we need to rediscover the verve we had during our 3 game the-Premier-League-sucks streak. We all felt that we had pulled ourselves out of trouble even if the 10 point deduction remained. Several games later, and we've taken no further steps forward. Sheff United and Burnley look like toast.particularly if Wilder keeps picking Holgate, leaving one of maybe, 5 teams to go with them. Even if the appeal results in the 10 points being reduced to say 5, it only puts us alongside Foresdt and Palace, so we can look at this game as a 6 pointer.
The Duke hs clearly a big effect on our scoring abilities, so my hopes are that he will return.
As for DCL, do we keep playing and hoping? His dreadful attempt at lobbing the City goalie last week (at least I think it ws an attempted lob) sums up his form or should we give Chermiti a try? He has the same birthday as my wife (my wife is not 19 btw) so I think this is the game to give him his first PL game.
As for Palace, it may seem crass to talk this way, but does Roy's health scare affect then positively or negatively? They are without 2 payers who I wished we had, Eze and Olise. They'll probably have their new manager in the stand, so their performance could go either way.
I've feeling super positive that we will nail these guys.
COYBs.

I know I shouldn't because it always backfires... but I think we will win this... tight 2-1 or similar.

btw Yank... we are at home, so you really should edit that title before the judge nails you Smile

well, we really have to get the 3 points I feel... but with Luton losing today a draw will lift us out of the relegation slots on GD

I just read somewhere that Onana is the seventh fastest player in the PL, just a whisker behind Anthony Gordon. We should stick him up next to DCL and see what happens. The two of them up front could cause havoc. He's also capable of a slide rule pass which, like his astonishing pace, is something we never seem to utilize.

So here's my team v Palace

Pickford
Coleman Tarks Branthwaite Myko
Garner Gana
Harrison McNeil
Onana
DCL

with Duke coming off the bench.

Hmmm. A small quibble, if I may...

I agree on your starting XI but I don't like your formation to be honest. You've basically got DCL and Onana as right wingers, in fact you've got way too many players on the right side. And look at all that space in front of Myko? I know he's a good defender but that's just crying out for the oppo to 2-on-1 him down that side while most of the team is hugging the right touchline. Even an interim Palace manager will spot this imbalance and attack it, within the first 20 minutes or so, I fear. As for your utilization of Pickford, well, I have no fucking idea what level of Pep genius you've got in your head there.

I'd stick to music if I were you mate. Now this...

........................................Pickford
.....................Coleman Tarks Branthwaite Myko
....................................Garner Gana
.....................Harrison.........................McNeil
.......................................Onana
.........................................DCL

...gives us a bit more balance on both flanks. And locates Pickford in a position where he might save more shots that are on target. I hope this doesn't come across as confrontational, seriously not my intention, but your formation sucks balls. I know they say we all get a bit more right wing as we get older but this is still a pretty young team.

Everyone's a fucking expert. Obviously, if we stick everyone over on the right, Palace will have to adjust to nullify the threat, leaving Myko a free run down the left. Jeez, and didn't you used to coach the kids? No wonder this country's in the state its in.

I like your thinking Hairy .. the only error I see you made was shortening Tarkowski to Tarks... meaning Myko is not as wide as he could have been ... schoolboy error really.

Didn't think of that. I knew there would be some Pep-level inspiration here somewhere.

A famous person once said that talent is hitting a target others can't hit, whereas genius is hitting a target that others can't see. I think it was Schopenhauer. Or was it Taylor Swift? I keep on getting those two mixed up.

I thought that, rallying the troops to support their ill manager, but then again the reason he became ill was Palace had already tapped up the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner to take over. so not buying the rallying call as Woy will be quietly hopping Everton stuff Palace.

Than’s my assessment of the situation which brings me to think Everton will win with a Calvert Lewin brace 2-0

Outnumbered in midfield. No pace anywhere. Get Beto and Harrison on and unashamedly play 80s long ball 4-4-2. The opportunities are out wide behind their wing backs.

Awful. What a dreadful team we have this season.

Bright spots? Maybe Doucoure, he's looked decent. DCL, except for the important stuff like getting a fucking shot on target, is putting in a shift. That's it.

McNeil and Young have been terrible out wide. We have no fucking pace at all anywhere on the pitch. Bring on Onana and Dobbin.
