Everton v Wolverhapton Wanderers.
Mrs Yank will be at her first game this season.
This is normally a good thing.
We've been to the all-weather racetrack at Wolverhampton.
Good food, lousy horses who couldn't run for shyt.
As for footy, my first pair of footy socks I ever had were yellow and black hoops. Wolves had won the league a few years earlier, but my uncle couldn't find a pair of blue socks to match the shirt he'd bought me. I'm thinking TJ Hughes wasn't far away.
So we arrive at GP on Saturday and already we are in a must win game. Blue flares please.
The bottom 2 slugging it out like 2 old fighters determined not to hang up their gloves just yet. Just one more fight boss.
What we lacked last week was not just confidence but, seemingly, hope. Players who just don't trust each other.
Then an air of inevitability that a key player would be stricken by some weird injury or fluke. DCL ends up looking like Ali when Frazier levelled him in the last round.
2 who finished each other off.
A draw would be almost useless to both, but somehow I'm thinking, just don't lose.
Just for Mrs Yank's sake, I see a much changed team and a 2-1 win.

Re: Everton v Wolverhapton Wanderers.
A win would be nice, a point would be nice, a defeat would just pile misery on misery.
Lose to these and lose to Sheff Utd and there will be a feeding frenzy in the media, and hysteria among the fan base. But never mind, the club are very actively looking for investment/signings/unicorns/excuses.

Re: Everton v Wolverhapton Wanderers.
Lets face it, we are probably going to lose. Wolves are shite, but less shite than us. Praying for a win but hard to see. Decided I will go to this one.
Bet of the weekend. Virgin bet give a free £5 bet if you bet £10 on any prem game at the weekend. Bet £10 on Wolves double chance at 4/6, you get £17 when (if) wolves beat us or draw, and a free fiver bet. If we somehow win, the we have lost a tenner but fot a free £5 bet and are fucking happy!!! Cant lose on that one!!!

Re: Everton v Wolverhapton Wanderers.
A Saturday 3pm kickoff. I'm happy with that - it's a traditional time and day for Everton to fuck your weekend up. I don't like having to wait until Sunday afternoon for my weekend to be fucked up, as I just spend all Saturday and Sunday morning worrying about the impending fuck-up, and Sundays (the day before we go back to work) I've always hated anyway.
The ideal time for our weekend to be fucked up by Everton is the early Saturday kickoff. We can then get it out of our system to an extent, and enjoy Sunday. But 3pm is OK. According to my diet plan I only drink on Saturday evenings these days, so I'll be able to get pissed in order to deal with it, then wake up on Sunday and have two days of the bank holiday weekend to enjoy without further Everton fuck-ups. That's unless we give Maupay a new contract on Monday, of course.
If (and it's a big if) we are to assume that Luton and Sheffield United will go straight back down again, then this could basically be a relegation play-off between, IMO, the other two most obvious candidates for the drop.
DCL is out. Apparently most of our creative players are out. At least Nunes (who City are after) is out for them, suspended. The most confident prediction I can make here is the drabbest 0-0 draw of all time played out between two teams wracked by fear and without any creativity between them.

Exactly. If Maupey misses a sitter tomorrow, I'm blaming Made 4 Gwladys.
Maupey doesn't need excuses, he just needs a bit of time. And space. And glasses. And maybe we could make the goals a bit bigger? It might help if the opposing goalkeeper is removed, too. In the interests of fairness, we could replace him (the GK, not Maupey) with a cow's arse. Then we just need a winger who can provide a steady (not too quick) supply of banjos.
Edit: I can't spell Maupay properly.

No first choice full backs, wingers or strikers. That's about it right?
What could go wrong.

We can't win anything with adults, either.

Re: Everton v Wolverhapton Wanderers.
Another weekend without a recognised striker, apparently we can’t blame Bill Kenwright because according to Alan Brazil Talkshyte Bill is not well (Allegedly) ,now I don’t know or careless surely some one at the club can put a contract together.
With DCL not available ,can see Dajuma starting up front with Lewis Dobbin stepping in for the injured Alex Awobie out on the wing
I really don’t understand why Dyche persists with Michael Keane ,his excuse at the conference was Jerard Branthwaite didn’t have much of a preseason but for many he starts.it’s a six pointer tomorrow we got to get something.
I’m going home victory 2-1
Lewis Dobbin and Dajuma. UTFT’s.

Re: Everton v Wolverhapton Wanderers.
After the Villa fiasco I swore I was not going to watch the next game. Well, I might have to retract that statement.
We are just a bunch of fools, aren't we....?

Re: Everton v Wolverhapton Wanderers.
I'm excited to see Branthwaite from start. Good call, hopefully, from Dyche.
Re: Everton v Wolverhapton Wanderers.
The game is TV here in the US, so knock on wood, we can put together a performance and get the three points.
Re: Everton v Wolverhapton Wanderers.
morning Thor... I'm packing for Spain trip so will listen on the OS .. agree Branthwaite is a good call... so too is leaving maupey out... I'm hoping to also see Chermiti at some point in a thumping victory today.

I only swtiched on at half time. We are ropey in defence. Plenty of effort though. Some great saves by both keepers so far.
Chermiti on for Dobbin.
