Everton vs RS
Right then, derby day. None of us looking forward to it, let’s be honest. We’ll be doing our Atleti best to snuff out the rampant reds. Hopefully won’t get absolutely battered, however, no point being negative - Maupay to make himself an instant club legend, Gray and Gordon with the other two. 3-1 to the blues.
Re: Everton vs RS
I'm saying it quietly but I think we'll win 1-0 ... Gana to score

Re: Everton vs RS
That was a great chance for us, too bad Gordon couldn't get to the ball after Maupay's shot.
Re: Everton vs RS
Encouraging half from us, much better than I feared.
Onana with a yellow but he's been good at breaking up the play.

Re: Everton vs RS
If we know one thing about Everton this season it’s that we’re likely to concede a late goal. Was hoping we’d have had a goal on the break by now. Liverpool will be hammering at the door for the next half hour or so.
Re: Everton vs RS
Good game. Thankful that the Shite didn't win it in the 95th minute there with Salah.
Good point and morale booster.

Re: Everton vs RS
That’ll do. Gutted we didn’t nick it. First clean sheet solid, performance and Maupay showing what he can bring to the team. Pickford finding his form from last season. Plenty to be proud of there. If we could have nicked it Rotts’s much vaunted Klopp explosion may have occurred. Look forward to him whinging like a child about how unjust it all is.

Re: Everton vs RS
Could have won that, could easily have lost it. Overall, really encouraging. Coady and Pickford immense.
Re: Everton vs RS
was out but heard good chunks on 5 live ...
..did I hear there was a bad injury ?... I hope not
sounded like the VAR decision was very close

It was close, but not half an inch. By VAR standards clearly offside.
Onana got done by van Dijk, not a nice tackle, he was limping for the last 10 minutes. Hopefully just sore and no lasting damage.
Re: Everton vs RS
An entertaining game and I'm feeling a lot more positive now. We could have won it, but could easily have lost it, so happy with a point. It feels a little weird reading online comments and being congratulated by the deludes, but at least that is out of the way for a few months.
Decent performances all round I thought. Onana is looking lke he will be a great signing. Iwobi is unrecognisible from pre-Lampard. I also Maupay added something and could be a decent buy. He should have scored in the secong half but he was clearly absolutely fucked after an hour.

We had a few players blowing by the end, Gray was another one, Onana too. Not surprising, they all put in such a shift. This is where the squad depth comes in. The five subs gives the likes of the RS yet another advantage, so we just need to be able to bring some decent players on from the bench too.
I saw a stat showing that Maupay ran further than anyone else on the pitch, over 11K. You don't get that from Rondon. I don't often pay too much attention to that particular stat but seeing something over 11K is rare. No wonder he was fucked.
Re: Everton vs RS
Wasn't going to go all week. My lad was giving me grief, calling me a defeatist and a miserable fuck (guilty your honour), and I finally agreed to go on the condition that WHEN we lose he will have to buy all the beers for the evening, and if we go 3-0 down we can leave whatever the time. Thank fuck I did go. What an atmosphere and what a game. We rode our luck a bit but had enough chances to have actually won it!! There's some real grit in the team now and what we lack in skill we make up for in effort.
Not seen any TV coverage or reports yet, but here are a few things I picked up from the game.
Davies battles but not good enough.
Onana could be a real gem, he looks class. Him and Gueye will be awesome as a pair!
Maupay ran his arse off but cannot hit a cow's arse with a banjo in front of goal. Not good for our only fit striker.
Not Iwobi's best game but he's winning me over
Coady is our best signing in years!!!
Why the fuck wasn't Van Dijk sent off for an obvious studs up and raking the leg?
Another fucking VAR goes against us!! Bet it would have been allowed the other way
Pickford is fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!
AND I'M FUCKING CHUFFED getting a point against the red cunts!!
Now it's pub and beer time and watch Shitteh thrash the Villa

Re: Everton vs RS
I’m glad I went in the end too. Fantastic game, great atmosphere except for the horrible away fans who caused chaos outside the ground. Mind you the policing was a bit stupid too.
We looked really good, could have won it, could have lost it. I thought Patterson was very good, in fact all the defence was solid, though we looked a bit lightweight up front times.
But for me, the key takeaway was how Incredibly good Gana looked when he come on. He’s clearly benefited from his time at PSG and I though he was the best player on the pitch today, against a surprisingly lacklustre RS.
Finally, can’t understand why VAR didn’t get involved and red card VVD

Re: Everton vs RS
I didn't watch it but very pleased with the point (and a deserved point at that). Hopefully we can kick on and get our first win soon.

Agree on Patterson. I really underestimated him, seemed to absolutely thrive in the big occasion hope it’s the start of something good. Gana is such a Rolls Royce of a player. He does nothing super fancy but all the basics are done so well.
Re: Everton vs RS
Dick Van Dyke. What a piece of utter shithousery.
That was never an effort to get the ball. Aimed straight at the ankle.
Allan got done for less. Stranding over the lad and giving him comforting pats don't cut it with me.

Re: Everton vs RS
watched the game in full this morning .. things look really hopeful now IMO
iwobi continues to improve & impress, which was not expected... Tom did well I thought & was so unlucky not to score.
McNeil I have to say was good.. really puts in a shift when he's there & also my fears re: Maupay I think can be shelved... he looked really lively with some great link ups... again could have scored.
Coady's goal ... I watched it 4 times & I'm not at all convinced that was offside... VAR has had a total nightmare this weekend.
Dick van dyke had to see red... fucking awful tackle over the ball... disgraceful challenge that any player from any team apart from the shite would have been off... VAR not confirming a red is shocking
Brilliant 0-0 ... both the point for us & in fact the game... really entertaining football...
..of course they could have won it too ... but fuck them, hopefully they are dropping too many points to challenge this year... I think they have underestimated how important or how good Mane is
