Everton v Southampton .
Everton V Southampton. At Goodison Park K/O 15.00pm
With Rafa Benitez taking charge of the blues this season ,its been a weird Summer, Farhad Moshiri went against the fans wishes by making the appointment,
not my choice either but i will always support the team and club,
Benitez has made three additions, a keeper back up to Jordan Pickford, Two wingers in Gray and Townsend,
Still no Right back cover for Seamus Coleman and No Back up for striker Dominic Calvert Lewin who may miss the Southampton game through a toe Injury.
Benitez has put both Moise Kean and James Rodriguez aside to train alone as he doesn't see either player being part of his plans.
still two weeks of the transfer window left FFP has killed any chance of champions league football
10th at best but a good start tomorrow 2-0 the might blues
Gray and Richarlison.UTFT's

Both players have their own problems ,Its just a case of what you want to believe.
Rodriguez telling people he's training alone so he won't get hurt in training? make of that one.
the other is Benitez doesn't like Rodriguez hence he's not part of his plans.
Moise Kean throwing his toys out the pram as a move to PSG looks unlikely now with the arrival of Messie to PSG.

Re: Everton v Southampton .
Here we go.........................
I haven't been this excited about the start of a season since, well since setting the alarm at 6am to get up for the Marco Silva show.
Maybe it would be different if I was going to Goodison, but probably not.
Anyway, I reckon this will be a right old ding-dong affair. Everton 5 (Watson, Newell, Ebbrell, Cottee, Milligan) - Saints 4 (Rod Wallace, Ray Wallace, Danny Wallace, David Armstrong)

Started last season with that poisoned chalice..... hope!! All went to shit as per usual. Luckily, not even a squeak of any hope for this season so cant be let down. Top half would be a success with the current mess at the club but expecting a poor start, relegation worries, Rafa sacked then Big Sam rides in on his steed and we scrape 17th place with a Barry Horne winner in the final game. If only we had the Fortress Fund money we coulda been contenders!!

c'mon guys, forget about the past and let's have a bit of optimism here. ok , so what, he managed the shite, who really cares, it's what he can hopefully do for OUR club that matters now
he is OUR manager so let's get behind him & the team and inject some hope for a good season
1-3 but a nervy 2nd half comeback 4-3 FT

14Townsend

6Allan
11Gray
9Calvert-Lewin
7Richarlison
Looks like a 442 with Gray and Townsend supplying the ammunition for DCL and Richie. Old school, but I like it.

Re: Everton v Southampton .
Adam Armstrong (22 mins)
What a start to Adam Armstrong's Southampton career!
The signing from Blackburn Rovers marks his Premier League debut with a goal and it is a fine one too as he is slipped in by Che Adams and, with just the goalkeeper to beat, he confidently smashes a drive into the roof of the net.

Even without the goal, Doucoure has been excellent today. Gray good as well.
