FT. Not the best performance but solid at the back. Great play from Richie and Siggy for the goal.

Re: Everton v Southampton
Well it's 3 points, grateful for that. But what I'd do for a nice comfortable win one of these days.
Genuinely, these are the games I worry about. Bring Chelsea on but oh shit, we've got West Brom and Burnley coming up.
Mad season.

Re: Everton v Southampton
great to get 3 points and a clean sheet
be nice to score a few more to up our GD, but i'd settle for a moyes type 1 nil win each week

That's the league table after we'd played 25 games in 2004/05. We're four points off the pace, we had 47 from 25 that season.
Not that it means anything at all. Just a mildly interesting comparison between this season and our highest finishing season in the last 30-odd years (although we've beaten that season's 61 points four times since then but only finished 5th/6th.)
Funniest thing about that table, looking at it now is that the chasing pack consisted of the Shite, followed by Boro, Bolton and Charlton. Looks quite funny. Newcastle were lower mid table though, if you're looking for a bit of comfortable familiarity.
Ah, Bolton in the Prem. Fond memories of the notloB days on the 606 board. When the financial pull of the Prem was so great that players like Djorkaeff and Okocha willingly and consciously said "yeah, I'll play for Allardyce, sign me up."
Win on Thursday and we go 4th. Chelsea play the Shite after we play. If they draw, we stay 4th. My lad is convinced we've got a chance, and maybe we should listen to him because he's only 21 and is looking at things objectively, whereas we're all arl arses scarred by the last 30 years of dross.

Nothing to do with having no money then, we now have a world class Manager and a decent team (once completed) will challenge for honours.
so we are in a far better position to judge Now.
