What a fucking great night... I'm off to bed with a glass of port to watch MOTD through squinty eyes, before my missus blows her top with me singing 60 grand.

Godfrey was a great wingman to Keane today. Nothing that caught the commentator's attention, but just unbeatable.
I thought JP might find the return fixture too stressful, but nothing to worry about.
Great day. Great perfomances all round.
Godfrey. Mate, give it time but I think we might have something special there.
I know we played three at the back in both games, so Digne helped out at times, but he's had to deal with Mahrez and Salah in the space of four days (they both occupy the old inside right channel) and he's been outstanding. And you're right, his excellence often goes unnoticed. I miss Hansen on MOTD, he's the only pundit who ever used to pick up on a defender's feet and balance when facing an attacking player one-on-one.
He reminds me of a (far) speedier version of van den Hauwe, a hard, proper defender able to play anywhere across the back four. He could turn out to be an absolute gem. And he has to play, whatever position, in every game. We're not blessed with much speed overall but he's fucking Usain Bolt.

Funny thing about Seamus - he's nearly done and he's not good enough and he scares the bejasus out of me when he's in possession. We'll have another right back this time next year. But to coin an NFL phrase, he comes up with the big play so many times. Could be a goal, or an important block or clearance, whatever.
We need a better right back right now. But I think his place in the Everton pantheon is secure.
I can't wait for MOTD. Night mate. Don't overdo the port, it gives you gout.

Man of the match, Made 4 Gwladys. Big performance mate, you held this thread together.
Where was Thor ??... injured or in the pub ?
I reckon even Bubbles will be back on the board now
Oi, I've been back for ages!! Lol!!
Kudos to everyone today. Everyone made a few mistakes but overall they put in a show. Godfrey is gonna be a superstar, Keane is a giant, JP back to his best, Davies never stopped, Richie looking sharper. I was there when we won 22 years ago, my first game was the 2-0 win at Analfield in 1969/70 and gutted couldn't be there today for that win!!!! Carlo is a master, how the fuck did we get him! Had a few wines tonight and gonna go to bed well happy. Lets finish above those red fuckwits!!! COYB

We were decent, but I couldn't give a flying one if we were or not. 22 fucking years is outrageous. I was there with me Dad the last time we won, and I feel a psychological weight has been lifted from my shoulders now I don't have to say that anymore.
I nearly didn't watch today as I miscalculated the time difference and we invited some friends for a bbq. In the end I had to watch, set the laptop up in the kitchen and said I needed to prepare a special one and a half hour salad.

Re: Shite v Everton
The commentators Arlo White and Lee Dixon both had a good chuckle at the Godfrey tackle where he cleared the ball in front of some Shite players towards the end of the game. Both of them said that was a good old-fashioned crunching tackle. It actually gave me some goosebumps seeing the tackle and listening to the praise from the commentators.Rotterdam 1985 wrote:Yankthattoffee wrote:Great interview by Seamus at the end. Re: Shite v Everton
Mixed omens before the game. Could the Shyte really lose 4 at home on the trot?
Their CBs had to be a weakness though.
Henderson's injury looked like it took a lot of the steam out of them as well.
Now we have to press on.
London teams looking ordinary other than Moyes' Boys.
A decent break now.
Get a full squad fit and healthy.
That dreaded optimism is playing mind games with me again.
Fashion Police - White socks with blue tops, a al 1960s Alex Young, Roy Vernon etc.
Most got it right yesterday. How not to wear them = Richarlison.

That video, I both love it and hate it simply because it's great to see the players being so happy after such a long time of misery against the Shite. Which leads me to the hate part, it's like we have won the CL final.
But I'm not going to hate on it in the end.

Yeah I get that. The flip side is, we'd hate it more if they weren't celebrating the win like that.
The solution, of course, is to beat them a little bit more frequently than once a decade. Make it routine. And don't fucking follow it up with a limp cock of a 2-0 home loss to Southampton next game.

It really is great to see the players celebrating together - they sure seem like a proper team with great comradery.
My favorite video for the month is this one though after the last second goal at Old Trafford.

Thor, Klopp ran on the pitch to celebrate when Pickford flapped the ball into origi a couple of season's back. It's the derby, you always celebrate a win.

You know it. You know we're losing to Southampton. No amount of derby wins will help me forget that Fulham performance.
West Brom are terrible. But that's away, and they're desperate so they'll have to come at us. We should be able to pick them off. I'm confident we'll nick a 3-3 draw there.
Then we'll fuck Chelsea 6-1 at their place before losing at home to Burnley.
