Re: Shite v Everton
Pickford, Davies, Keane, Godfrey, all magnificent.
Holgate, Coleman, Digne, not far behind.
Doucoure is a big man. Shocker of a first half but much better in the second.
Ricky ran his arse off. Great finish. James didn't do much but the assist was class.
My 21 year old eldest was less than 1 month old when we last won there.

Re: Shite v Everton
Kean and Davies had great game today, but think Jp deserved that kept his head made some vital saves.

Yeah Thor was doubtful before kickoff. Massive depression, I think, given who we were playing. He should be fit for the 1-0 home defeat to Southampton though.

It was the longest game of football I've ever watched in my life.

My prediction is we won't win.
Weirdly I stuck a fiver on us to win at 6/1. No idea why. I had zero expectations.
Re: Shite v Everton
Everton have scored twice as many premier league goals at Analfield in 2021 than the shite have

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!
Oh shout out to the ref as well. He didn't buy a single one of their dives in and around the box. Well played sir.
Re: Shite v Everton
OK, I watched the game on the couch, and when we scored after 3 minutes I figured I couldn't leave the couch and jinx it all! Hence, no postings from me.
I have a massive headache, probably because I have been so fooking nervous for close to 2 hours.
Magnificent win. I'm so fooking happy.

I have a glass of Malbec on the go now, to celebrate. I'm on a low carb diet and recently discovered that red wine is low in carbs, so I might finish the entire box off.
Yeah. Box. I'm fucking classy, me. Morrison's own brand as well.
Speaking of red whine, did anyone hear the Klopp post-match interview? Sky went straight to the Fulham game.
Re: Shite v Everton
They showed the majority of it here on TV. It was an interview in which he really didn't say anything. Just said they have to be sharper in front of the goal because they created lots of chances blah blah lederhosen blah need to tuck the ball in to the net blah blah fake teeth blah blah.Rotterdam 1985 wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:OK, I watched the game on the couch, and when we scored after 3 minutes I figured I couldn't leave the couch and jinx it all! Or something along those lines.

Yeah you know he's rattled when he brings up lederhosen. When he starts banging on about how Bismarck's Kulturkampf didn't go far enough, you know he's ready to throw the towel in.
I watch a lot of German footy. And I'm not saying this will happen at Liverpool. But when the wheels fell off for Klopp at Dortmund, they came off big time and he seemed powerless to do anything about it.
Whisper it quietly, but it's possible they've simply been found out.
Re: Shite v Everton
I'm fucking knackered after watching that, so I don't know how the players feel. Anyway, that was magnificent. I've just been banished from the kitchen for playing Z Cars at full volume on repeat for twenty minutes. Fucking soft southern killjoys, my family.

My daughter has watched about four Everton games this season and now considers herself to be a hardcore blue as a result.
Anyway she wandered downstairs earlier, about 5 minutes before the penalty, glanced at the telly, did a double-take, exclaimed "I didn't know this was on", asked me how the fuck we're winning, watched the pen go in, parked her arse on the couch and stared at her phone for the rest of the game, then celebrated at the end with me and my lad like the true long-suffering blue she considers herself to be.
I'm pleased for her. She's had to wait months for her first win against the Shite. It's hard to watch your daughter suffer like that, for so many weeks.
My lad, however, blue to his bollocks, who was just starting to get his arse up to Goodison on his own for restricted view games before the pandemic hit, is now walking around looking like Bez even though I don't think he's taking anything illegal.
He has a lot of soft southern Shite-supporting mates, my lad. He's suffered a bit over the years. Gutted for him that he's not sat in a pub with them all right now, shoving 10 years worth of shit back in their faces. But it was nice to see his Bez stare at the final whistle, and, I don't know, something profound came over me in a fatherly way that I'm not intelligent enough to express in words.

Re: Shite v Everton
Great interview by Seamus at the end. Honest as always, but if only....that header.
Godfrey was a great wingman to Keane today. Nothing that caught the commentator's attention, but just unbeatable.
I thought JP might find the return fixture too stressful, but nothing to worry about.
Great day. Great perfomances all round.
