Re: Middlesbrough v Everton
Very good in the end. Boro didn't really scrap for it but we took the sting out of it with goals at right time. I think they realized 20 minutes from the end they couldn't live with us and the quick counter so just huffed and puffed til the end. Job well done.
Come on Southampton!
Come on Southampton!

Geri looks like he's enjoying being at Everton. We've got a very decent first XI right now. Imagine what a very decent manager could do with them

Re: Middlesbrough v Everton
Bobby's favorite word must be "pleasing". I seem to hear that every time he talks.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez on Sky Sports: "It was a fantastic occasion, to be involved in the cup. We had to be mature and control the game and we did that really well, especially after the Bournemouth result. It showed we learnt a lot.
"It is a terrific feeling to get through to the semi-final and good memory for our football club.
"Middlesbrough had a team who are good on the ball but we defended really well. All in all, the two goals were exceptional pieces of quality. More than anything, after keeping a clean sheet from going 2-0 up was very pleasing."

admit it, you are being a bit mean. Personally I think he's a decent manager but I'd like a defensive coach. Stones and Mori are very similar but I think we need a stopper as well. Jags can fill that role if we are three at the back, which was the direction RM tried to take us.

Still a long way to go but is a better manager than Moyes. We have the best side at the moment that we've had since the mid-80s.

Mori is very similar to Stones. Comfortable on the ball, likes to pass or take the ball into midfield, takes risks across the back line. I love that we have ball playing centre backs but it comes with risks obviously and been caught out a few times since Jags has got injured. He's settled in well thought. Tim Vickery has been totally wrong about him in his judgement that he wouldn't cut it in EPL.

Agreed. I was concerned about this signing, but it's seeming as though the days of Bobby making duff signings a regular thing may be over.
