Everton are in the ascendancy here - if only they had a striker on the pitch capable of sticking it in the net. I think they might be readying Jermaine Beckford. Another Toffees' move gets them into the Sunderland box, but no-one pulls the trigger and the chance goes begging.

Jack Rodwell does indeed come on for Seamus Coleman as David Moyes makes the first change of the evening. A stay of execution for Louis Saha, no doubt about that.
