Villa v Everton
Fuck fuck fuck forgot about this one, hats off to M4G for reminding me.
Anyway, league cup, under the lights at Villa Park, it's a classic old school cup tie. I would expect Dyche to play some of the squaddies except for the fact that we don't have any, so it will be a (cough) "strong" side, which should be more than enough to knock out the Villains who will probably play a load of 12 year olds.
0-2 to the mighty blues, goals for Tom Davies and Bill Kenwright.
So, if we should lose this one, does that mean I have to delete my Luton thread?

Villa are in the Conference League, which quite frankly they should win with their eyes shut. They should at least reach the later stages, which will involve them playing an additional 95 games in places like Kazakhstan, Kosovo and The Vatican. They should, therefore, literally be begging us to knock them out of this tin-pot thing tomorrow night to help with their anticipated fixture congestion.
To that extent I expect them to field a Famous Villa Fans XI for this one, including Prince William, Simon Le Bon, David Cameron, Sir Mervyn King, Nigel Kennedy and all of Black Sabbath (Ozzy in goal). In contrast we'll be at full strength due to a complete lack of squad depth, as Hairy points out, and I think we'll win on pens after a 1-1 draw.
Actually I wouldn't play DCL in this one. Give the lad Chermitti a run here. If he's up against a CB pairing of Le Bon and Geezer Butler then he should hold his own.

Geezer Butler is a very tall former choir boy and Simon Le Bon has massive biker thighs which can crush a car. Or should that be the other way round? Anyway, they'd be a formidable CB pairing, so I hope Villa play Kennedy and Cameron there instead.

My favourite part of what was otherwise a very persuasive reply. I am most interested in your theory that former choir boys make good centre backs. Can you elaborate, ideally with some video evidence? Maybe some rare footage of a pre-pubescent Franco Baresi singing Pie Jesu?
Actually, that's not possible. Baresi was never an adolescent. He looked 35 years old at birth and probably sounded like a chain-smoking Lee Marvin.

Well, clearly, a choir boy has experience of high balls.

Garner, DCL and Patterson all played really well. When everyone is fit, we actually have a decent squad.

Re: Villa v Everton
Just watched a cup draw with a modicum of anticipation for the first time in god knows how long.
Burnley at home. That'll do.
