Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
To all of you - When we are at our darkest I was so committed…. I never doubted. Yes I would have the niggling thought, but never doubted. Tonight’s result was also brilliant because my bet has come in…. Everton will finish 16th or higher. So I will collect the winnings on Sunday.
Brilliant, relieved and so ready for the summer…

Cannot describe the roller coaster of feelings there tonight!! Memories of 1994 again and another astonishing come back. Once Keano scored it had a weird inevitability about it. The belief was incredible and I can barely talk for shouting. Just fucking amazing!!!!!

Glad you went?
Too right! Though I was cursing the decision at half time. Really didn’t see that coming, but what a feeling. Went for a late pint when we got back, and how great it was to hear the whole place singing spirit of the blues. Doesn’t happen often.
Incredible night at goodison park. Relief beats glory every time. Just seen Lampards interview and I think he agrees

I’m not sure we can handle this level of stress. But on the other hand, it’s been the most exciting season for years!

I'm still stuck at Cologne airport waiting for a delayed flight home and I've been walking round here with tears in my eyes.
Yeah probably!
Got back from Germany 10 minutes ago, 3am. The M11 was shut, to cap off my travel travails.
Fucking weird night. 2-0 down and concerns that they were going to cancel our flight due to electrical storms in Germany. Was not in the best of moods at that point. Turned out well in the end though.
I have no words other than I am so fucking relieved. Me and my brother are going on the piss Saturday night to the same pub where we celebrated the Wimbledon escape.
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Hopefully this video will play outside the US. The last 5 minutes or so are fantastic. And, as someone else pointed out earlier, great by the US programming to stay at the stadium showing the scenes after the final whistle instead of going to a commercial break.
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Serious question (I don’t know the answer): when was the last time we came back to win from two goals down in the league?

I think it was the 3-2 win over Watford in 2017 under Unsworth? Cleverley missed a late pen for them.

We were 2-0 down against Watford in Feb 2020, under Ancelotti. Mina scored two goals in added time at the end of the first half and then Walcott got a 90th min winner.

I read that it was the first time in 75 games we had come back from 2-0 down at half time to win.

Good shout. Similar personalities, I reckon.
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
They’ve been shocking most of the season, and amazing when it counted, but at the same time I couldn’t love this bunch more. I really hope Richarlison stays, he’s brilliant.
