Everton vs. Man City
This game surely seems rather meaningless in the big picture, but here we go anyway.
Re: Everton vs. Man City
Sounds like we denied a blatant penalty.

Re: Everton vs. Man City
Despite the narrow loss, I'm still proud of the effort shown. City the better team but the goal was fortunate I thought.
And don't get me started on the penalty that wasn't. Allegedly there was an offside prior to the penalty that 99.99999999999% of the viewers missed.

Re: Everton vs. Man City
The opening to the game was stunning
"No Putin.
No War"
All LEDs in yellow and blue
All players draped in Ukraine flags.
Plus "He ain't heavy.."
Apart from the one mishap during the game, this was a resolute effort from the blues.
Bodes well for the next 14 games, as long as we're not too dispirited.
Ref should have been told to go to the monitor. Richie was waiting on the spot.
The Gladdy dwellers in the pub after the game were convinced it was a pen.
The reaction from the Citteh players at full time was as thought they had won the elague. This was a huge game for them, and yet we were the ones who could have gone in at HT 2-0 up.
FA cup it is then.

Yes, I had goosebumps at the start - really powerful. I thought the atmosphere was fantastic throughout and we were worth a point at least.
I must admit I can’t see this City team holding off the RS though.
Re: Everton vs. Man City
Remember that Tottenham incident? The penalty overturned and the ball given to Spurs? The referee? Well he was in the VAR booth today. He is the modern evolution of Thomas, Clattenburg...

What is the point of VAR, after that decision?
We have simply swapped on-field refereeing inconsistency for VAR inconsistency. And at least the on-field ref has the excuse of not being able to see everything, depending on angles, obscured views etc.
I am no conspiracy theorist. But clear-as-day incidents like that just make you think about what is actually going on sometimes. I'm an honest bloke and have genuinely tried to work out what could have made the VAR officials think "naah, not clear cut" with that handball. Arm out, swings towards the ball, nowhere near the shoulder. Can't work out what would have made them say no. It stinks.
