Re: Everton v West Ham
Iwobi off for Siggi. He also gets a standing ovation, and rightly so, he was a force today. He should have scored as well.
Re: Everton v West Ham
The ref doesn't appear to like us much. Goals disallowed, bookings for minor stuff.

Mina picked up a knock and Holgate is on for the last 2 minutes of stoppage time.

SMS Message: No excuses for West Ham being this poor really. Not got that many internationals, had a long break and know from previous performances that we are better than this. If it weren't for poor officiating and poor finishing from Everton, this could have been a very embarrassing scoreline indeed! from Tom, Kent

The highlighted part there, yes, not sure why Mena's goal for instance was disallowed.
Re: Everton v West Ham
Now, can we play like that every week?

Re: Everton v West Ham
Better performance today,Andre Gomes controlled the midfield, better performances from Walcott -Bernard and Awobie think it’s time Sidibbie had a run in the team ,made some great runs.
Let’s hope we push on now and show some more that fight and passion, that won this game.

They were shite but I'd like to think that we contributed to them being shite. We pressed high and harassed them in to mistakes.callmebubbles wrote:Wet Spam were shite. Gomes was outstanding. How that wasnt 5 or 6 I have no idea. Why was Minas goal disallowed?
The most glaring shite finish was from Iwobi, he needs to do much better there than striking the ball straight at the goalie. If he puts that ball on either side of the on-rushing goalie, it's a goal.
I don't know why the Mina goal was disallowed and neither did the commentators. I suspect the ref was anti-Everton....

Voice over on highlights (VAR guy?) says Gomes blocking a defender for Mina's goal.Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:They were shite but I'd like to think that we contributed to them being shite. To which I ask, did the same VAR guy see the Burnley goal last week?

Re: Everton v West Ham
Quote' from the Hamburgh-Hammer Column.
To paraphrase a famous football chant, the Scouse's did indeed get our stereos on this occasion, but they did so in broad daylight and we made it terribly easy for them to do the actual nicking by leaving the doors wide open, with the keys still inside and probably the car stereo wires already unplugged for even quicker removal from the motor. If this was an insurance claim the company in question would flat out decline to pay up due to sheer negligence of the most basic safety requirements on our part.
We were docile like a declawed elderly lion who had just finished a meal of an entire wildebeest all by itself, getting ready for a digestive nap.
Only to be then pestered for 90 minutes by a chasing and menacing pack of salivating hyenas snapping eagerly away at our tail and ankles. Brutal.
I am not even gonna blame our manager here because quite simply our players are all professionals and grown ups, they know what is expected of PL players and each and every one of them will be aware that this was a non-performance from us – with no plausible excuses in sight. If they need a motivational speech from the gaffer every weekend in order to perform on the pitch as professionals, they are probably not quite fit enough to play at this level.
Both of Everton’s goals were great individual efforts and as a football fan I can only applaud the skill involved in converting those chances, despite our defensive indifference helping a lot.
However, where was our own desire to play football, to use the ball creatively when we had possession ? What have we been doing on the training pitches last week and why did I get the impression our players didn’t really fancy the game from the first whistle onwards ?
West Ham could have done the decent thing for their carbon footprint and forfeited the game. At least it would have saved the team as well as the fans the need to burn copious gallons of petrol/aviation fuel.

Re: Everton v West Ham
very good, and very true. Just what we needed, but West Ham were atrocious and we won't be lucky enough to face a side like that every week. Still, a fit Gomes and Davies, I may add, make a huge difference. Davies is so much more positive than Schneiderlin. For me he needs a run of games.
Walcott impressed, but he's obviously never gonna make the right decision in the final third.
Sidibie looked good too. I hope we can keep hold of him, although I still think Seamus has a lot to offer.
The referee was abysmal. I've no idea what he saw for Mina's goal, and how he gave West Ham a corner minutes later, after Sidibie was hacked down, I'm not sure.
Also, as much as I've tried, I can't warm to Richarlison. I don't think he'll ever be as good as we hoped/we're lead to believe, but it's the crying and diving that I can't handle.

It is alleged that Andre Gomes obstructed a West Ham player by standing in front of him.
