Must say it's difficult to argue there.Armchair wrote:I've given up on Silva. Too many games where we don't score. Too many goals conceded from set pieces. Too much money spent for not enough points gained. If you can't manage a team with Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Kean, Iwobi, Bernard and Digne to beat Sheffielf United, Villa and Bournmouth, you need sacking.
Re: Everton v Sheffield United
We do well when teams attack us, like United, Chelsea etc at the tail end of last season, as there is plenty of space for us to play football in the final third of the pitch. But teams like Villa and Sheff Utd see us as one of the 'big' teams, so they stick ten men behind the ball and hope to nick a goal from a set piece or breakaway. We aren't solid enough at the back to stop them scoring those goals and we haven't got enough guile in attack to score ourselves.

We worked down the flanks for pretty much the whole game.Armchair wrote:We do well when teams attack us, like United, Chelsea etc at the tail end of last season, as there is plenty of space for us to play football in the final third of the pitch. Yet the only decent header of the ball, DCL, didn't figure.
I know he's produced few goals, but this was made for him.
Tosun, Kean and Richie pushing into their back 5, we just didn't produce anything worthwhile around them.
We needed guile and we had precious little of it.

We flew into Tenerife while we were playing These (SheffUnited) left my IPad on the bloody plane so didn’t get the result until 21.30pm
Looks like I didn’t Miss much ? seems to be the case this season we leaking goals but? Can’t score them, football is not very entertaining .
I’m not looking forward to playing Sheff We’d tonight I don’t have any confidence in Marco Silva or the team,I posted last week that I felt Silva was top of the sacking race.i stand by that, I honestly think we haven’t strengthened at all, defence is poor and attack is lacking,Marco Silva likes his wingers and defensive midfielders but? Games are won by good defending and good attackers ,questions are going to be asked after the weekend unless by some good fortune we get some decent results..

Re: Everton v Sheffield United
The biggest challenge has been that expectations were, once again, way too high.
Kean is slightly more raw than we thought.
Sidibe. Where the hell has he gone?
Pickford both saves games for us, and loses them too.
Iwobi, like Kean has been too kean to impress. Their natural game has not shown up yet.
The boo boys have had their usual effect on players' confidence.
I see us developing like last year, and maybe looking at 1 or 2 cup runs.
(I'll let you know tomorrow)
