Everton have signed Arsenal U18s goalkeeper Joao Virginia for an undisclosed fee.

Everton goalkeeper Joao Virginia has completed a season-long loan move to Portuguese champions Sporting Clube de Portugal (Sporting Lisbon).
Virginia joined Everton from Arsenal in the summer of 2018 and made his First-Team debut in a Carabao Cup game against Salford City last September.
The 21-year-old, who spent time on loan with Championship team Reading in 2019/20, played his first Premier League football when he came off the bench in a Goodison Park meeting with Burnley in March this year.
In his first season with Everton, Portuguese Virginia was an instrumental figure in the Under-23s team that won a Premier League 2 and Premier League Cup double under manager David Unsworth.

Everton goalkeeper Joao Virginia has completed a loan move to SC Cambuur and will spend 2022/23 with the Dutch Eredivisie club.
Portuguese Virginia joined Everton from Arsenal in summer 2018 and has made three senior appearances for the Club.
He spent last season on loan in his homeland with Sporting Lisbon, playing eight games in all competitions for the 19-times domestic champions.
Virginia, an instrumental figure in Everton Under-23s’ 2018/19 Premier League 2 and Premier League Cup double success, played on loan for Championship team Reading for the first half of 2019/20.
The 22-year-old, contracted to Goodison Park until summer 2024, joins an SC Cambuur side that finished ninth in the 18-team Dutch top-flight last term.

Everton goalkeeper Joao Virginia has signed a new two-year deal with the Club until the end of June 2025.
The 23-year-old Portuguese joined the Blues from Arsenal in August 2018, before playing a significant role in the Under-21s’ double-winning season during his debut campaign.
Virginia had made three Men’s Senior Team appearances for Everton, earning his debut against Salford City in the Carabao Cup in September 2020.
The Portugal Under-21 international has also gained further experience with loan spells at Reading, Sporting Clube de Portugal and Dutch club SC Cambuur
“I’m really happy to be at Everton and it’s a great moment for me and my family to sign this new contract,” Virginia told evertonfc.com.
“It’s nice to be back at Finch Farm and I’m looking forward to the season.
“A lot has changed since I’ve been away on loan last season. There’s new players and a new manager so it feels like a fresh start."
