Re: 7 - Richarlison - Kev to his mates
It's similar to when we had Lukaku - we as fans seem to talk about the failings of our better players more than their attributes. I for one have been guilty of that. So with Lukaku we seemed to discuss his iffy first touch more than his mountain of goals. With Richarlison we want him to be more consistent when in possession, but don't realise how hard it will be to replace that work rate. As with Lukaku, we'll miss him when he's gone, even more than we currently think.
Re: 7 - Richarlison - Kev to his mates
if we stay up.. i really hope we can convince him to stay ... he's been brilliant for us

Yeah, good read...
"He played on the wing and would be fouled a lot but would rarely go down,"
...but this line made me laugh!

Classic tale of the honest South American going over to England and being corrupted by the dishonest locals.
Nice article though. There's a lot of keyboard warriors out there who should have a read and reflect on where a lot of the big players have come from.

Yeah absolutely. It's the same in the NFL, which I follow closely. A lot of players who make it and earn their money come across as brash, with their attitude and their bling etc. Well, read some of their back stories, the disadvantages they had to overcome and the roadblocks they had to navigate. And they still made it. No wonder they want to shout about it and show off what they've achieved, and why the fuck shouldn't they?
Re: 7 - Richarlison - Kev to his mates
Don't worry yourself Thorg, that Richarlison shirt is last season's version, which is why it's cheaper than the other two.

Tottenham are in advanced negotiations to sign Everton and Brazil forward Richarlison, 25, for £51m.

Rumours a swap deal plus cash for Harry Winks.Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Tottenham are in advanced negotiations to sign Everton and Brazil forward Richarlison, 25, for £51m.

No, no and thrice no to any Winks swap deal.
Problem with selling to Spurs is that Levy loves the deal more than he loves the player. He'll play hardball all the way and we'll end up with Danny Blanchflower and fifty quid in used notes.
Of course, it's possible it will end up in one of those opaque deals where player swaps, add-ons etc mean that both sides can claim victory. We'll say it was an £80m deal, and Spurs will say it was £45m.
Re: 7 - Richarlison - Kev to his mates
I'm surprized Richie is considering another PL team. I'm wondering whether we are using Spurs in the same way as they have done in the past. Pitch low and then let the other teams over-bid?hairy cataract wrote:Made 4 Gwladys wrote:Rumours a swap deal plus cash for Harry Winks.Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Tottenham are in advanced negotiations to sign Everton and Brazil forward Richarlison, 25, for £51m.

Everton want more than £50m for Tottenham target Richarlison with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also tracking the Brazil international (Daily Mail).

Re: 7 - Richarlison - Kev to his mates
Why do we let Bill Kenwright negotiate deals? I mean I know why, but still, Levy will eat him for breakfast.
Re: 7 - Richarlison - Kev to his mates
Scott's eh? Very nice. I wonder why the multi-millionaire Spurs chairman and the multi-millionaire Everton chairman would meet each other for dinner, in a very public place? I wonder if it's just because, well, they know each other and like to chat shit in expensive restaurants. I mean, I wonder if Bill really was about to sell our entire team to Spurs for a quid behind Moshiri's back, whether they would meet in a slightly less public spot? Or at least a cheaper restaurant.
Anyway, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that no deals for the sale of any of our players were done last night in a fish restaurant in Mayfair.

You could be right.
Then again...
Like, it looks very much like we have to sell someone to get us out of FFP lumber. And I've read that this might have to be done before 30th June. Now this could all be bollocks - none of us know for sure - but if there is any grain of truth in all that then I'd be astonished if the topic of who Everton might be willing to sell didn't come up in conversation while two PL chairmen were having a meal together, irrespective of how pleasant the restaurant is.
Anyway given our financial difficulties, I'd much prefer it if Bill arranged these conversations in a takeaway kebab house. "So then, £50m plus add-ons, and we can...Adana shish with chips? Yeah that's me...anyway, we can chat about Anthony Gordon another time. Wetherspoons on Sunday?"
Re: 7 - Richarlison - Kev to his mates
Bill's trying his lovey-dovey style on big Dan.
3 days to see if it worked.
I feel a bit of sympathy for Billy. He thought he'd found the perfect efc owner in Big Mosh, who then went and shyt the bed.
If the Kenyon boys move in, Billy will surely be gone?
