Chelsea V Everton
Premier League fixture, Sunday 27th August, 13.30 BST
(NOT on Sky, as they thought West Brom V Stoke would be more exciting!)
A battle weary Everton squad make the the trip south to play hosts Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at lunch time on Sunday. Buoyed by their midweek qualification into the group stages of the Europa League, Everton hope to avoid a repeat of last season's 5-0 mauling at this same fixture in the capital.
Lawro says:
"Everton have made a really good start. Everything about it has been impressive. The only thing is that, at the moment, Wayne Rooney is the only one who looks like he is going to score.
Everybody knows they are looking for a striker, it is just a case of who they can get in. But they have a good manager and have made good signings already.
They got battered 5-0 at Chelsea last season and while I don't expect that to happen again, I do think they'll lose."
Who the fcuk are Chelsea anyway!

Re: Chelsea V Everton
Presumably the plan was to hit Chelsea on the break but Sandro is the only one in the side with any pace

Thanks for the link Blue Gaza👍Toothless Everton once again, 3 at the back don't work ,Williams is total gash.Sandro very poor make yout excuses all you like we are going to struggle unless Koeman finds a striker central defender.

Largely agree there, especially regarding the target man (and the thanks to Blue Gazza). I can't be the only one concerned that we are looking at DCL, Sandro and Lookman for our goals.

Re: Chelsea V Everton
I thought Chelsea were very good. Great one-pass movement of the ball, made us look second best apart from the last 10 minutes when they took the foot off the gas.
What worries me the most is how little we created in midfield.
Chelsea stretched our team and found open spaces all game long. The distance between the backline and Sandro up front was massive and Chelsea took advantage by working their way through the midfield with ease.
The international break came at the right time. We looked jagged and void of ideas. We probably would have struggled against a team not nearly as good as Chelsea today.

Re: Chelsea V Everton
Just back from the match. Thought Koeman made a match-deciding mistake by starting Sandro instead of DCL. When DCL came on we looked a million times better, we finally had an outlet and he unsettled Luiz brilliantly, allowing Sigurdsson to get into the match and we really should have at least pulled one back.
First half we were run ragged by a decent Chelsea team. Davies was very disappointing, but all of them were to be honest.
Can't remember the last time I saw Everton win.
