Dynamo Militia v Everton
Dynamo Kiev v Everton
UEFA Cup
Competition UEFA Europa League Date19 March 2015 Kick-off 18:00
On aggregate1 - 2
VenueNSK Olimpijs'kyj (Kyiv (Kiev))
Everton travel to Kiev in the Ukraine on Thursday with around 1500=fifteen hundred supporters hoping to see the mighty blues through to the quarter finals of Uefa-Europa Cup. its going to be a very noisy stadium even if Uefa have ordered part closure to the stadium due to crowd trouble in a previous Europa tie involving French team Guincamp,
It will be a tight game, but, I think we can just pinch it 1-2.
Lukaku & Naismith.

For those travelling to Kiev, radiation suits are optional, but if your dick starts glowing in the dark............
My brother has traveled to Kiev on business recently, and says that the police / army are as corrupt as a Colombian drug lord.
So have plenty of cash (in the local currency or USD) with you, just in case they levy a mysterious charge / fine (bribe) if you are stopped at a check point.
They all carry guns and will have no problem with shooting you and dumping you in a ditch if you annoy them.

Re: Dynamo Militia v Everton
Aiden McGeady is part of the Everton squad that has flown out to Kyiv for Thursday's Europa League Round of 16 second leg.
The Irishman has been missing for more than a month but is included in the travelling party for the trip to Kyiv.
Kevin Mirallas is not in the squad after the Belgium international picked up a knock in the first meeting at Goodison Park last week, which ended in a 2-1 victory, and subsequently sat out of the 3-0 win over Newcastle Untied on Sunday.
McGeady, though, was on the plane that departed Liverpool John Lennon airport at just after 10am on Wednesday morning.
Roberto Martinez, his coaching staff and club officials were joined by 21 eligible players, as Everton bid to book a place in the quarter-finals of a European competition for the first time since 1985.
Gareth Barry, who is available for Europa League action despite being in the middle of a two-match domestic ban, is part of the squad that has jetted to Eastern Europe.
Goals from Steven Naismith and Romelu Lukaku helped Everton come back from a goal down in the first leg to secure a slim advantage heading into the return match in the Ukraine capital.
Tony Hibbert, Bryan Oviedo and Steven Pienaar, who have all been side-lined recently with injury, have not travelled.
The flight is due to touch down at Kiev Boryspil Airport mid-afternoon local time on Wednesday, before the squad journey to the Olympic Stadium for an evening training session.
Everton squad: Howard, Jagielka, Baines, Robles, Lukaku, Coleman, McCarthy, Barry, Osman, Alcaraz, Stones, Atsu, Barkley, Besic, Kone, Naismith, McGeady, Garbutt, Browning, Griffiths, Gibson

I was in Kyiv 10 days ago... its actually remarkably different this year than a few years back. The Maidan massacre, the Crimea and now the effective annexation of the Eastern provinces has created a real tension. There is a general deep willed well of desire to establish some pride back into the nation that has had some diificult times. The trouble with the Guincamp game had very little to do with the French fans they were almost unwitting passers by. The real clashes were between the usual two factions; those who are clearly more open to an ever warmer embrace with Western Europe and the Economic Area against those who still hark back to when Ukraine was a key influencer in Soviet affairs.
Added to that all EPL clubs carry a target on their chests/backs for all the Danilovich Dyerskis of the world to pop up and 'ave it! with the English
Personally I had an offer to go to the match (corporate hospitality thrown in - but with the rider that I would need to appear as a neutral English lover of football and that if I was to get excited even in a box it would become difficult. I said I was busy!
My greatest hope is that we do the business (even possibly lose 3-2 on the night to save everyone's face) and we progress stoically into the next round. Where we will truly the minnows... methinks

The trouble started when the Guingamp supporters turned their flags sideways to indicate their support for Russia, when all trouble with the Guingamp supporters calmed down, Dynamo fans turned on the stewards & Police. the Guingamp chairmen went on record to call Dynamo fans rabid dogs. the result of a country in crisis.
It will be a case of get what we can grab/steal and get out of their safe and sound.

If i'm honest I think we may lose this one... I fear for our fans safety too.

Seemingly pitch is in awful condition. Everton weren't allow even train on it tonight. Not sure who that will benefit. Certainly not Lukaku's first touch!

Aside from everything, he said we're not a team that's going to focus on keeping a clean sheet because we want to enjoy ourselves. Er, bobby do you know how cup football works? We keep a clean sheet and we'll go through. And have you noticed how bad our season has been?

You are forgetting though that we have been winning the possession stats more or less the entire season. That's better than winning the league!Tonteau wrote:The President wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31956352

You just know we're going to look in balanced again.
His best team needs to be the XI that played against Toon, someone needs to replace Lennon mind, maybe McGeadys Russian experience would help, but edict Naismith and Barkley to come in, probably Kone out, Barry and Besic for Gibson and Osman
COYB. A nice early Luka pen and them down to ten please. Biggest game!

McGeady might be a risk, Atsu has looked good when he's come on, just hope he doesn't play three holding mid-fielders

If we go looking for the draw, we'll lose. We need to nullify the away goal as quickly as possible.
Re: Dynamo Militia v Everton
never thought I'd be holding out for a line up with Osman and Kone in.......
I feel Naismith offers that required goal threat, but he'll be left wing.
