2009-10 Match Discussions pt 12
Baaaxxxttterrrrrrr!!!!!!!sssssss toughest challenge yet.
Fook, I would love to see my 100% record retained, but this surely won't happen on this occasion (sorry sef, I won't be backing a 3-0 home win on this occasion). However, perhaps it was a useful kick up the back side for our lads in the last five minutes of the Europa game and even the top teams in the Prem are looking dodgy and there for the taking on occasion, especially away from home. We're not helped by Rooneys form improving of late, but Saha has as keen an eye for goal as anyone.
COYB. 1-1.

Re: 2009-10 Match Discussions pt 12 and Match League Thread
So no Cahill, no Fellaini, Arteta and Rodwell obviously not match fit, think we are going to struggle in the midfield for sure. Add to the fact we have only beaten Man Utd at home twice in the last 15 years (both 1-0 wins, with goals scored by the big man on both occasions), and the signs don't paint a pretty picture.
Hopefully the late goal conceded last night won't affect the players too much and as long as we can kept Rooney quiet we might have a chance. This is a game we really could do with Jags snuffing out Rooney, but hopefully with Heitinga back in defence, he can do that job.
Think Man Utd might get the victory, but going to stick my neck out and we will get a point.

If you can log on 30 minutes into the game to have a moan, then that should help.

The joys of parenthood.
We're starting weening this weekend, so I might be cleaning baby rice off the kitchen floor as opposed to watching the game.

^^ I'd rather play Donovan wide and Billy in the middle. Either way, I think we need some more muscle in midfield.

i think it is the game for Rodders to return, just add the bit of defensive cover, Pip will be at RB
Ossie or Pieman will play the supporting role to Saha

The Milan games show how to deal with Man Utd. If you sit back then they will hurt you, Players like Fletcher will get advance further up the field and Rooney just needs a sniff at goal. We have to go at them. Milan despite been a pretty slow side showed up how brittle the Utd defense can be by attacking the flanks, especially the left side. If we sit back and concede the space to Utd then we will lose this game.
So, How brave are you Moysie? Please no Neville infront of the defense.

Re: 2009-10 Match Discussions pt 12 and Match League Thread
Lets go for broke with 1 442 formation. I saw Sunderland come close to beating the wankers earlier in the season with Bent and Jones upfront. Might as well try to take the game to them. Rio Ferdinand and Amanda Vidic should both be out so it will be the baked bean and the karate kid (Brown and Evans) at centre half. If we can cause them problems them we might just get a result. My team would be:
Howard
Neville Heitinga Distin Baines
Donovan Osman Arteta Pienaar
Yakubu Saha
They have a bunch of wussies in midfield so we dont need a big man in the middle. You may laugh, but I think Ossy does a decent job of protecting the back 4. He isnt afraid of getting stuck in despite only being 2 feet tall.
We'll have this lot.
Who the fuck are the Manure shite anyway???

Osman is actually 5' 9" only an inch shorter than Cahill.
