Die Scheiße v Everton
So here we are 6 days away from a hell and high water trip to our old ground.
Underdog banner has been folded up by Ossie on MOTD. Keep quiet next time Ossie lad.
Despite this, let's get positive again.
Dyche had an advantage against Dyche, in that we knew exactly how they were going to play, but Arteta had no idea that SD would flood the midfield and break.
Only 4-5 times did we high press. Pickford didn't play one short goal kick. SD baffled the little Spaniard.
He has come back to the Premiership well rested and clearly relishing the challenge. Klopp looks like he taking paracetamol 4 times a day.
Pressure on him and his team, is clearly the way to go.
Same team? Looks like it with DCL a scare. Even his initials look like an injury.
COYBs. I'm still there with ya!

Havent had the balls to go to a derby game for a while now. The Pickford v Van Dijk was the last. Even though we are still in the bottom 3 I am actually going to this one. I am hoping we can finish Klopp off as we did Dalglish (or cunt as he is affectionately known) all those years ago. I was there for that too!!!!

If memory serves, we finished Brendan off as well.

DCL 'touch and go' for Monday according to Dyche. I don't fancy our chances if Maupay is up front.

Time to introduce a eral unexpected bombsheell on their CBs. Yerry Mina!
I think he could be a typical Dtche number 9.
He's not without skill and he'd be a monster if we got a few crrosses in.
Seriously.

Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
surely this is Simm's chance.. score in this game & he'll be a hero & probably preferred over DCL (if he's ever fit again).,.. he was awesome on loan apparently...Yankthattoffee wrote:Armchair wrote:DCL 'touch and go' for Monday according to Dyche. I don't fancy our chances if Maupay is up front.

Regardless of our beasting Arsenal and them getting stuffed by wolves, I remain un-confident about this. It’s them and it’s at their place. Provided we give the kind of effort we did against Arsenal I think we can all be happy with that. Most of all I’m worried they’re going to leave plenty on our players like they did against Brighton and we’re going to lose some key players from our paper-thin squad. Pleasingly it’s on a Monday so whatever happens, it can’t ruin the weekend.

Could be, but Mina would be my choice.Made 4 Gwladys wrote:surely this is Simm's chance.. score in this game & he'll be a hero & probably preferred over DCL (if he's ever fit again).,.. he was awesome on loan apparently...Yankthattoffee wrote:Armchair wrote:DCL 'touch and go' for Monday according to Dyche. Pickford is now playing everything long. No short goal kicks.
As corners are now a speciality, again Yerry ticks the box.
I recon he wulld relish the gig.
When SD names the team, line it up as though we're going to a back 3, with the Duke as striker.
Then as soon as the game kicks off, then the true line up is revealed.
Mina runs lazily from CB to CF as Klopp's jaw drops, and Matip shyts himself.
Anfield Road end goes feckin nuts.
After punishing the Shyte defense, we have a new legend, even better than the Straq.

He will be great for 8 minutes or so, until he gets injured again

Come on now bubbles, we're currently in our optimism window, and it might be very brief, so enjoy it while it lasts.
I think Mina up front is a brilliant idea. And against Arsenal I think Maupay carved out his niche for the remainder of the season anyway, as an "impact shithouse" off the bench. He really is very good at that.
We're off on a four-night family break tomorrow so we'll be in the Yorkshire Dales for Monday's fun and games. I've done my research and identified a pub in Ripon that will definitely have the game on. Despite their defensive frailties I'm predicting a good old-fashioned 0-0 derby draw, because we have attacking frailties to offset their woes at the back. If we win, it will probably be down to Tarko or Coady from a corner again. Fucking into them lads.
Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Hang on Rotts, I put 1-1 in the predictions. I'm at the peak of optimism . OK, I am going to go out on an optimistic binge here and say that Mina would last for 16 mins before going off injured.

Fucking hell I missed that! Why did nobody else spot this and alert me?
I'm not sure if this is the kiss of death or the dawn of a new era.
Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Thats way too negative Rotts! . I was just being 'realistic'

I'm not saying we're going to get a result - one Dyche tactical masterclass doesn't stop us from being desperately shit - but I'm sort of enjoying not bricking it 3 days before a derby, for the first time in about 10 years.
Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Feeling a bit sick to be honest.
Anyway, as usual, I won't be watching this. I can just about bring myself to watch the Goodison derby, but I think I've only watched one Analfield derby in the last couple of decades. My plan is to turn off my phone, sit in a darkened room, and only check the scores at half time and full time.
I really, really hope we get something from it but, most of all, I really, really hope we don't pick up any injuries or red cards. The next few weeks will go a long way to deciding whether we stay up or go down, so we need everyone fit and available.
Fuck the fucking shite...
UP THE FUCKING TOFFEES!!!! COME ON YOU BLUE BOYS!!!!

I'll be at work but will nervously keep an eye on the BBC live text update page. I'm not expecting much, maybe the team will pleasantly surprise me.

Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
Sutton's prediction
Liverpool v Everton (20:00 GMT)
Chris Sutton
Liverpool's atrocious form is one of the reasons this has been such a difficult season for making predictions - you used to be able to bank on them to win every game at Anfield, but not any more.
Everton have also become a tough team to call. Their performance in the win over Arsenal last time out was incredible, and a massive improvement on what they had done before, but it was just one game under Sean Dyche.
I have absolutely no idea whether they will sustain that level, while Liverpool have been so poor for so long now that we are at the stage where I am expecting them to play badly, rather than being surprised by it.
Form normally goes out of the window in derby games, and Liverpool fans must be desperately hoping that is the case.
Everton were well organised and had hunger and desire against Arsenal, and they also carried a threat - I think they will play with the same intensity and I am expecting them to score again too.
Jurgen Klopp's side will always be dangerous going forward too but, at this moment in time, based on Everton's last performance and Liverpool's performances over a long period of time, I have to back Dyche's side - even at Anfield.
I definitely wouldn't have predicted Dyche's victory on his last visit there, with Burnley in 2021 to end Liverpool's 68-game home unbeaten run in the Premier League, but things are very different now.
There is simply no reason to believe the Reds will suddenly turn the corner and start playing any better than they have been, so why would anyone back them to win this game?
Prediction: 1-2
Is this a kiss of death, or should I (we) be more optimistic...?
Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
We are down to one fit striker (over five feet tall). Every team around us has three or four options. What happens if Simms gets injured? He certainly won’t last more than 60 minutes today.
What a fucking situation we are in. We’ve got to get through nearly half a season with this tiny squad

Re: Die Scheiße v Everton
And finally….. how on earth can anyone make us favourites tonight? Just look at the two line ups, and the positions in the table. The media are just setting us up for humiliation.
Over and out.
Over and out.
