Burnley v Everton
Everton boss Rafael Benitez has been speaking to the media before his side take on Burnley on 26 December.
Here are the key lines from his news conference:
Full-back Lucas Digne is available for Sunday's match.
He is "really surprised" the game against Burnley is going ahead after Everton recorded five positive Covid tests alongside six injuries.
Benitez says they have "been punished" for following the rules. "You can close the training ground for two days and then you will be allowed not to play the game. We were trying to do the right things. And then in the end maybe we will be punished for that.... we have three dressing rooms. I know other teams don't do that."
The Everton manager also talked about the integrity of competition and the fairness of fielding a "weak team" for the likes of Burnley's rivals.
He says it is a "massive risk" for our players who have been out for months, like Dominic Calvert-Lewin. "When Jordan Henderson is talking about a player's welfare, I think it's something that we have to consider when we make decisions."
Preparations can sometimes be a "nightmare", according to the Toffees boss.

Re: Burnley v Everton
So, I reckon the team on Boxing Day will look something like this:
Pickford
Hibbert
Labone
Derek Hatton
Amanda Holden
The fat cunt behind me in the Upper Bullens who keeps shouting "turn!" whenever Tom Davies gets the ball
Digne in a sulk
Godfrey
That ginger kid from the under 16s
Calvert-Lewin until he gets injured in the 23rd minute
Iwobi cos he's bound to be the last man standing when everyone else has Covid

Re: Burnley v Everton
Given that Burnley are basically a professional pub team, and we'll be playing a load of kids, I hope this pans out the way all such fixtures play out in the local leagues on a Sunday morning - the fat pub team look at the little bunch of kids and smirk and think they'll be able to kick them off the park, only to find that they're 4-0 down by half time because they can't get close enough to the kids to actually kick them.
So I'm going for Burnley 0 Everton 5 (Simms (2), Dobbin, Dobbin's mate from school playing as a ringer ("if you get booked, you're name's Yerry, OK?"), Cadamarteri)

Club press release on this
Everton's scheduled Boxing Day match at Burnley has been postponed after a Premier League review of the Club's request due to injuries and positive COVID-19 cases in the Blues' First-Team squad.
A Premier League statement read: "Everton were due to travel to Turf Moor to play on Sunday, at 3pm. The Board reviewed the Club’s request today to postpone the match following further injuries to their squad. They concluded that the club will not be able to fulfil their fixture this weekend as a result of an insufficient number of players available to play due to COVD-19 cases and injuries.
"The Board this morning was able to make its decision in advance of Boxing Day to give clarity to clubs and their fans. We apologise for the inconvenience and disruption caused to those supporters’ festive plans."
