Re: Everton V Chelsea .
A draw would probably have been a fair result based on chances but that was a pretty solid performance.

Re: Everton V Chelsea .
Apart from that freekick off the post, did Chelsea create a chance in the second half?

Re: Everton V Chelsea .
Not really. Giroud blasted 20 yards over the bar from 12 yards out.Armchair wrote:Apart from that freekick off the post, did Chelsea create a chance in the second half?
Re: Everton V Chelsea .
Speaking of that freekick, how lucky was Pickford? He was going to his right but the ball to his left side.Armchair wrote:Apart from that freekick off the post, did Chelsea create a chance in the second half?

Yep.
James Rodriguez will be back against Leicester.

Clean sheet - 3 points 2000 fans sounded like 10.000 got us home.
Makes all the difference when fans are their.

Re: Everton V Chelsea .
Interview with Pickford now. He sounds like he's had 8-10 beers the way he speaks.
Re: Everton V Chelsea .
I fully expect us to push on and win the league now.callmebubbles wrote:Blimey,.didn't expect that!!

I thought Siggy played well so it will be interesting to see if he is dropped in favour of James.

Siggy had one his best games for us.Armchair wrote:SEFTON wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Do you know for how long he'll be out?Armchair wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:James injured? Not even on the bench.

A role that suited him, as he isn't blessed to outstanding pace, and his tackling is suspect with his body weight always beyond the ball.
But today, a simpler role suited him just fine.
Great penalty. Not seen him give the goalie a butchers before.

Re: Everton V Chelsea .
The energy levels were a lot better, when you get in the faces of a creative team like Chelsea numbs their style play,Allan is a work horse a future Captain as well, showed aggression and dealt with Richy wanting to take the penalty.
Roll on Wednesday away to Leicester City, very important we keep to a winning mentality and stick with the starting eleven tonight.keep James Rodriguez on the bench? Thoughts....

Re: Everton V Chelsea .
I felt strangely serene throughout that second half, most unusual for me when watching Everton.
Can't say I knew we'd win. I just felt pretty confident throughout. Chelsea helped, by being pretty shite. They have loads of tidy players but they don't have a Kane or a de Bruyne, someone who makes you shit your underkecks whenever he's got the ball.
We seriously miss Digne as an attacking outlet.

4-4-2 looks our best formation since CA came here. Seems to be what he is most comfortable with, but where does that leave James?Rotterdam 1985 wrote:I felt strangely serene throughout that second half, most unusual for me when watching Everton.

Godfrey seems to have warmed to the club and great to see Holgate looking sharp again.

Re: Everton V Chelsea .
The crowd were immense I am immensely relieved. Even Pickford looked competent tonight. Defence solid. Happy days again. I can't cope with COVID/Brexit and Everton doing badly at the moment!
Re: Everton V Chelsea .
Say it quietly, but despite our shitness in recent weeks we are 2 points off Champions league & 5 off the top !
