Too true. The commitment and desire (as well as skill) were missing throughout the game.Armchair wrote:FT. Rubbish. Bobby will point to the scoreline and say it was a close game but it wasn't. We were dreadful throughout.
Was Coleman the only one who comes away from this game with at least some honour and pride?

Gave up at HT. Had my dinner instead and wasn't interested in the second half.
Utter wank.
Yes Coleman was good.
Our possession and passing was awful.

If we loose at home to Sunderland next week, then I just gave up.
Major changes needed.

Re: Villians v The Mighty Blues
One of the worst performances of our season, which is saying a lot. Second to every ball. The first half was shockingly bad. I'm not sure if it was a case of them thinking that, after recent results, either, they only needed to turn up and the win was theirs, or perhaps worse, now we are safe so who gives a fuck.
Nobody appeared to give a fuck in the first half. Particularly Lukaku. Although in fairness, he was perhaps the only one who tried to put a shift in second half.
I think we neede Osman's experience in the first half, which is a pretty sad assessment.
Oh well... on another note, we went away to the beach for the weekend yesterday. 140km''s from Lima. There is a huge storm in the south Pacific. I was hoping for some good surf but instead we were woken by the coastguard on a megaphone at 5am saying everyone had to evacuate as they were expecting huge waves and lots of damage. Back home now.

I feel sick. Ate too much cake?
Did we win? Were we phenomenal? Has Booby Martinez been sacked yet?

It wasn't phenomenal-It wasn't Fantastic-It wasn't superb , Most importantly It wasn't Exceptable.
Re: Villians v The Mighty Blues
Everton manager Roberto Martinez: "In the first half, we were second best. We didn't compete as we normally do - that's not how we've been performing.
"The second half was completely different. We created enough to get something out of the game.
"It was a disappointing to give 45 minutes away. That was not good enough, that's not the level we set for ourselves."

Re: Villians v The Mighty Blues
Martinez, after being fed a truth drug:
"I am clueless. It is true, I have no idea what I'm doing. Sometimes I wake up and have a great idea and then I forget what it is. I write the names of the players on paper and I pick them at random in the morning before a match. When we win, I don't know why, so I change the team just in case. When we lose, I don't know why, so I leave the team as it is just in case. I like football, but, unfortunately, I am as incompetent as a small child when it comes to managing a football team. Who likes my shoes? They're brown you know."

I'd love to see that smug tit sherwood go down, even though I half like him for giving relatively honest responses. So full of himself, though, I'd laugh if he got relegated with villa.
Re: Villians v The Mighty Blues
One more thing about the match… I didn't catch the second half, but I saw the highlights. Lukaku's pen was dismal. Okay, before anyone says it, it went in, but it was really poor.
Will we ever find out why he is the first choice penalty taker over Baines? It's bizarre.

I doubt that Lukaku was first team penalty taker, with all the aftermath goings on concerning Mirralas I bet Baines has said stuff it ''aint gonna'' take another pen.
Re: Villians v The Mighty Blues
Jags says the loss was a wake up call.
Effing heck Phil, we've been on the snooze button all year.
Huge looping cross comes in. Goalie! No, Howard has already pressed his snooze button.
Corner, only 2 likely targets, Benteke and Vlaar. Jag and Stones both hit their snooze buttons at the same time.
Through ball, sadly Barry couldn't quite make it to his snooze button.
A lamentably snoozy season.
Loads of lessons, but have we learned for next year?
See you in August.
