The silence from our club, player and agents tells you everything. Expect Stones to be parading a Chelsea shirt with-in the next couple of weeks.

Why do we need to make any comment? We are in a strong position. I know a lot of other fans (travelling with cabbies all over UK/Europe) are pretty peeved at how Chelsea are doing business. We do not need to say anything ... he is not for sale - he is an Everton player under contract and that he is a valued young player of immense potential. If you are not accepting our rebuttals and are in interested in finding a price then look at the market place and Stones is in the same bracket (if not higher than Mr Sterling).
Sooner or later we will get to the point where deals like this represent significant down payments for any Stadium rebuild.

For clubs like ourselves it's the attitude of entitlement that irritates when the like of United and Chel$ea come calling.Da Judge wrote:Cahill the Great wrote:Doc( Ninetoes )blue wrote:No new bid so I guess that means they have made a bid and we have expected it on the condition that it's not made public

Now the other Chelsea players and press join in like a pincer movement, and job done.
So Evans at number 5 then.
btw, if the Stones money bought Xherdan Shaqiri and Evans would you be disappointed?

Not if we bought a decent young (22-26 year old) CB who his proven at a high level too. Evans would be a decent back up to Jags and New Boy.
However as noted in a number of papers. Why would Everton who only have 2 recognised CBs sell one of them.

We'll here nothing on this for a while and then the next headline we hear will be Stones submits official transfer request. Then Chelsea get their man after the board decide not to keep a player at the club who doesnt want to be there. Rooney, Lescott saga all over again Im afraid.

Nobody knows. Maybe it's another Baines scenario.

Deal!
We could buy a lot of Wigan players for that. In fact, we could buy the whole town of Wigan.

Surely any deal should envolve a 1-2 season loan back to give him sufficient game time?

Doubt it. He'll get enough at Chelsea. He is a proven England international. So he should be up there with Cahill.
I presume JT would get most cup games and post Champion's League games off too.

Chelsea will make their second bid for Everton defender John Stones, 21, within the next 48 hours, offering £24m after a £20m bid was rejected. ( Daily Mirror)

Don't worry - it's the Daily Mirror whose overall accuracy regarding predicting transfers regarding Everton stands at around 0%.

If we can get a tried and tested CB in his mid 20s, plus a fab player in the hole/slot, for the money we make, then so be it.
I expect a second season dip for Stones, but sad to see him go.

I get what you mean but I don't see stones having a blip! Time will tell I guess ( if he stays with us )

Re: 26. John Stones - Pirlo eat your heart out!
We don't need the money so unless the offer is silly (£40m+) or Stones throws his toys out of the pram and refuses to play for us (he seems reasonably level-headed so not likely), we should tell the Chavs to take a hike.

Re: 26. John Stones - Pirlo eat your heart out!
I can't imagine a situation in which we would sell Stones for less than £30m in this transfer window. Ideally, keep him but, if he does end up asking to speak to Chelsea or Man City, then I would expect Bill to ask for not far short of £40m and settle for the mid-thirties including some perforance related stuff and maybe a makeweight in exchange.
Re: 26. John Stones - Pirlo eat your heart out!
The problem is if he asks to go and we say ok 35m chelski say nope 26m then stones says we are pricing him out of a move.......I just hope he says he wants to stay but when does that happen now days?
